Gimme Gamay, all day, every day! This is the Cote de Brouilly by France Gonzalvez. • • France picked grapes in 2004 for Xavier Benier while in Beaune wine school. In 2006 she began helping out Jean-Claude Lapalu. In 2008 she produced her first vintage. She now produces her wines in a facility of a retired winemaker and focuses on natural winemaking. She has 8.5 hectares under vine. • • The Cote de Brouilly is 100% Gamay harvested by hand from a 48yr old vineyard planted in granitic soils. The grapes are carbonic macerated for 20 days followed by spontaneous fermentation in concrete tanks. The wine is then aged in 50% concrete and 50% neutral barrique for 6-8 months before being bottled unfined, unfiltered and with no added sulfur. • • Aromas/Flavors: bright red raspberry, cherry and wild strawberry followed by savory spice, touch of moss, violets and cocoa.
