While I'm writing this post about Yngya, I'll also include my tier list, showing which are my favorite and least favorite gods. It's worth clarifying that I base my decision on the design and story aspects; both complement each other, even in the rare cases. If it's a charming design and concept, I'll like it. The story can also lower its ranking, regardless of how cute or charming the concept itself is.
1. The Fanatic 🐍
Believe it or not, he was the reason why the wiki has expanded lately, since seeing the lack of a page talking about them made me want to delve into the wiki. Their story was enchanting to me, as it allowed me to broaden my perspective and understand the differences between the types of gods, and to learn a little more about the Three Birds, enigmatic figures. Furthermore, it was the first time they made me investigate the archives so I could finally find them, or rather, their remains, something that had been unknown to the fandom for a long time.
2. Yngya ❄️
Ever since I heard about her concept in the Ancient Tablets, I knew she was going to delight me in the new DLC, especially because of Haro's comments about her. Although it saddened me to only get to know our true Yngya until the end, even though the corrupted version with lambs in her soul and mind gave me lore. It would have been lovely to get to know the real and loving Yngya better, who truly made me love her very much in both design and personality. I feel that she allowed us to learn more about what the Chosen Gods were like, and demonstrated once again what the balance of the world was like before the arrival of the Gods without Divine Right.
3. The Icegore 🌨️
Although we don't know much about them, I truly loved their beautiful design with every fiber of my being; it's something quite unusual, as I feel we've become accustomed to seeing gods in extravagant and elegant clothing. I feel that this unknown connection with Yngya also makes them charming, even though we don't know what they was like, seeing how he behaves with us, shows that they is not a wild person as they appears. I would like to know more about them, perhaps, although I think I am satisfied with what we have so far in a way, a free deity, without ties to our cult.
4. Leshy 🪱
He was always my favorite among the Bishops, because his personality needed validation from his siblings to feel valued; he reminded me a little of myself. Also, his totally recognizable design and colors that I feel turned out fantastic made him very dear to me; I always loved that unique way he has, someone as chaotic as he is.
5. Heket 🐸
The cruel and ruthless Heket—I love characters like her and their sadistic personalities for the sheer pleasure of it. I feel it contrasts with her loving side towards her siblings. How she feels after the Red Crown, and her brother's betrayal, I loved how she was in charge after what happened with Shamura. I also like her design; she looks quite intimidating and shows why she's not someone to be underestimated.
6. Haro 🦉
Our former God of the Hunt, how can we not love him, he's the one who gave us the lore of the Bishops and the lands before the arrival of The Fanatic. I have to admit that sometimes he really makes me wonder if his decision to abandon his position as a deity was the right one, and what became of his cult, if he abandoned them to their fate. I feel like I would have loved to know more about his past as God; he was truly our first glimpse of what a Chosen God was like, and I feel like he meets the standards.
7. Narinder 🐈⬛
Deity of Death, without whom I feel the story could not move forward, he gives us the purpose to begin and end our first adventure, without a doubt that made him win my affection and respect. His death-inspired design also made me appreciate every detail of him, and if I had to say it, I think if I had seen more of his past and his cult following, his ranking would have been higher.
8. Shamura 🕷️
I loved their role in the story, their personality, their affection, and their character. But one reason why I don't like them completely is because they destroyed one of my favorite systems of controlling Gods, where each one is important to the world, each one is valuable. I really love the way they is with their siblings, I find their design charming, and I also liked how they learned that the world must respect certain orders. But I think what brought them down the most was what they did to Forneus's children, and the pain they caused her for years.
9. The Lamb 🐑
Our Lamb and the representation of our person, I feel that this lack of their own personality, which was only seen in fragments in the base game and a little more in the DLC, is what brought them here. They has a nice design, and I quite love what little personality they has of their own; I feel like they's no longer a Chosen God, they's better than the Bishops.
10. The First Gods
I would love to know more about them, and it seems, thanks to what Mystic Seller tells us, that perhaps we will be able to see them resurface because of our actions. I feel they fulfilled their role in the story quite well, and their criteria for the new gods were very accurate. I find it sad how their legacy was tarnished by Chemach's madness. I couldn't say more due to lack of knowledge.
11. Kallamar 🦑
He was always one of my least favorites, especially because of his personality and how he sold out his siblings (Narinder, Shamura). Despite everything, he remained a coward even to the end; there was really nothing that his beautiful design could save him from. (Also, he was the hardest boss for me in the game, that's why too 🥺)
12. Gods of Gold 🪙
Learning more about them and their descendants shattered everything I knew up to that point. Learning about them made me like them more, even though we only got to see one of them, and also witness the birth of one of these gods. If we discover more about them, perhaps they will rise even more.
13. Turua
I always loved seeing how those gods other than the Bishops, who were found in subtle descriptions from the base game, became. He's truly one of those types of characters that, even though we don't know much about them personally, what we do know about them makes us love them. I really liked his design as a deep-sea octopus; I feel it's quite unique.
14. Laplace 🎲
We know little or nothing about them, they are like a mystery, but what little I do know is that I like their concept of Deity of chance. In addition, it seemed that they had some connection to the ability to guide souls to the afterlife. Without a doubt, one of the ones I enjoyed creating the wiki page for the most.
15. The Anchorite ⚖️
Without a doubt, they have a rather deep history if you think about it, how they went from being what seemed like a deity to becoming corrupted. They are among the gods with the most history in cards and relics, which allows you to get to know them much better; I would recommend researching them sometime.
16. Ala ⚡
I like seeing how they appears to be a deity born from pain and suffering, and that upon attaining power, they became quite cold and cruel. Without a doubt, a beast filled with the pains of the past.
17. The Fowler 🩸
They truly seems to be one of the deities with the saddest ending. It appeared they sought to give everything for their followers, but their inability to always deliver ultimately sealed their fate. I would have liked to see some of them in the frozen sea.
Other positions 👁️
Well, now we don't really know much about the remaining gods, and what we do know I wouldn't really know how to rank them all, so they'll just be in a tie. I hope you've enjoyed my opinion on the matter, and perhaps I'd like to hear yours. (Besides, Tumblr only gives me a limit on the number of images xd)
Here I will talk about the location of the Gods and their territories on the map of the Lands of the Old Faith.
Clarifying that some are speculation, others contain spoilers for Woolhaven, and finally, some only indicated where they are located, and it is not necessarily their territory.
Turua, Warracka and The Fowler, it seems that the three of them shared a common territory in the same area of the sea, or at least quite close.
The First Gods, according to a curse, come from the unknown continent.
And the God that appears in Pilgrim, The Icegore, and Yngya seem to share territory.
