Wowee, what a massive year! Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a huge thank you from all the Cotton On Foundation team. This year has been nothing short of massive as we celebrated 10 years of the Cotton On Foundation. · We opened 7,974 educational places in Uganda · At the beginning of 2017 students started the year in new schools in Nabbunga and Kamununku · We completed 6 new classrooms at Nsesse making it a complete school for 500 students · Through a partnership with School For Life we have finished construction of a new Secondary School at Mbazzi, which will open at the beginning of 2018 · We have installed 8 Rhino tanks across schools in Uganda, they are all now full and providing clean drinking water to children in our schools · We have had 4 schools under construction simultaneously – our biggest infrastructure effort at one time. We have watched these 4Ks grow and now have the roofs going on and all are on track to open at the end of term 1 next year · We opened a new Health Centre in Namabaale and in just two months of operation it has seen over 700 patients and 5 babies born · Nutrition Mission rolled out in South Africa and throughout 2017 184 people have gone through the course in Kwa Mashu · Through sponsorship we have supported over 3,000 vulnerable children with extra support to attend school and over 19 students with University scholarships and support packages · We began our partnership with Bwe K’Lar – our first school project in Thailand. We are supporting 6 teachers and the school for 70 students in this remote part of the country and look forward to creating new school facilities for them in 2018 · In Yirrkala over 100 students participated in multiple Learning On Country workshops and the Mulka Project continued to deliver great workshops in music, art, and other creative areas like game development · We had 3 ‘Road to 10,000’ trips to Uganda and also saw our DC Global Support Centre and USA team head over resulting in even more passionate ambassadors · We landed some powerful long form media coverage this year, including Pedestrian TV and PopSugar https://www.popsugar.com.au/smart-living/Cotton-Foundation-Uganda-Visit-44343777 https://www.pedestrian.tv/travel/cotton-on-foundation · We raised an incredible $11,962,332 which takes us to $68,991,839.99 since 2007 · Our best week raised $558,251 A huge thank you again for being part of this journey and for all your support.
