BANGLES, DENIM & BELTED BOOTS
Layering is my favourite part of winter. You get to wear different textures, styles and patterns all in one and it’s so much fun, because I mean who does not like experimenting?
Denim will always be a winner for me regardless of the season. It’s truly how you wear it. The fabric sways with the weather; when it’s cold - denim can make you feel cold, when it’s warm - it almost feels like you’re suffocating because it gets really warm however this is the part where I wear something else to feel a little warmer to avoid catching that winter cold that everyone does not want to catch.
Light fabrics or pieces can make layering easier because you don’t feel too hot or too cold so I like being as minimally warm as possible - okay so let me tell you why, so I suffer from chilblains in winter. Chilblains are “ a painful, itching swelling on a hand or foot, caused by poor circulation in the skin when exposed to cold” (Google) but see when I’m too warm, exposed to heater,sun/hot beverage I start swelling up so I avoid being too warm - I don’t even use a heater in the house, I’m always wrapped in blankets cause they are easy to remove for some cool air to reduce the swelling.
Growing up I hated turtlenecks because they were so thick and totally uncomfortable around the neck - it must have been the wool fabric. But now I think they are being made cuter with different types of fabrics and I’m totally obsessed with them. A light cotton turtleneck can look pretty without looking overbearing.
Everyone owns a fur/faux fur gilet and it’s a must have for days when you don’t want to feel overdressed, trust me ladies it comes in handy for those days when you’re not too sure about the weather or on days when you think the weather can switch up on you. It’s my go to and I never regret my choice when I decide for it to tag along with me for the day.
Bangles from the longest time have been my statement piece. I wear my bangles with absolutely anything and everything and surprisingly they go with my look. The collection started at a young age and some are gifts from friends and I’ve been wearing them ever since.
Belted boots have evolved over the years. I was never a fan of boots because my legs are too skinny (this is the same reason I don’t wear long boots) howeverrrrrrr the perks of belted boots is that they are adjustable! - Yaay. This is what I enjoy about them and will definitely consider a second pair (I had to try these out first).
