HELLO AND GOODBYE
Hiiiiiii Guys! How are y'all doing? Omg, I really missed you all. Did you miss me too? So I’ve had a seriously hectic past couple of weeks - with work (y'all know I have a corporate job right? Meh), a lot of blog planning and seriously thinking about my winter pallets for this year.
Winter is honestly my least favourite season, simply because I don’t like layering. I get too hot and irritated and I suffer from chilblains - and growing up my black mother (bless her) used to tell me I don’t like being dressed but now she understands my condition and has tried to accommodate it. I’ve always gone with the neutral colours for winter but this year I’d like to switch it up a bit. I’m seeing a lot of yellow coming and I just wanna wear it! It looks so great on the dolls in the store. Woah, I’m getting so carried away with all this winter talk but before I jump right into winter - we sadly say goodbye to the last day of autumn!
Strangely enough autumn is ending off very cold - you’d swear it’s winter already. The past 2 days have been sunny with a sharp cold breeze and we are easing off into colder weather.
A suede skirt goes with absolutely anything in my books. It’s such a great texture for autumn as much as it is for winter. The fun part about wearing it in autumn is that you still get to show some leg and still enjoy bits of the warmth. A black soft textured top to end it off gives it so much character (hmmmm I think I’ll re shoot this look as a winter look as well to show the difference). Chokers are in, I was really not a fan until I got one myself and it really does make a difference, it gives off the chic look.
Oh, my dearest mother is such a gem when it comes to these vintage pieces, simply because she finds the best ones! She got me this skirt when she was passing by a thrift shop for only R50. She always has an eye for these great pieces as well as the pieces she has passed down to me from her teens. She has an eye for fashion just as much as my grandmother and I do.
When I was shooting this look it gave me hazelnut vibes because of the richness of the skirt colours. A vintage hazelnut that is.
Goodbye autumn, it’s time to make room for winter!
