My engineer seems to keep getting dumber everytime I watch it, but actually it's stayed pretty consistent in its dumbassery and crack-iness, which I appreciate. I also appreciate that each couple has steadily progressed and gotten consistent screen time.

Thing is, we don't know if Finn's mother died. All we know is that Martin was called to some higher task and Finn was left behind. Who's to say Martin's wife wasn't also left behind to fend for herself? Who's to say Finn's mother isn't alive and well, albeit with some amnesia and a kickass wardrobe?
