its surprising to see that they consider shigaraki an uke or bottom.. I’m interested on how this is determined though? cuz huh? they’re both in that category too which is uhh making me curious

I assume it's sort of... who of the two seems more submissive or 'feminine' or moe, and who is more aggressive/take charge and masculine. Which also depends on a shipper's personal perspective and preference. Shigaraki's the leader and def stronger, but younger and a spoiled brat; while Spinner is older and looks like a tough lizard guy, but he's a follower with self-esteem issues. idk!

Numbers do tend towards Shigaraki/Spinner. Spinner is often called a 'heroine' because he's just so love-interested coded. But wonder remains.

In general, fans in jfandom likes it when the roles are fixed - one is the top, one is the bottom, and it stays that way. To the point that they'll sometimes block other people who ship it the other way.
