Good afternoon true believers. It’s time for #mundanemonday or should I say #multiversemonday?! About 2 weeks back, I took my mom to see the new Dr. Strange movie as part of her birthday treat. The movie itself was totally bonkers! This definitely had “Deadpool kills the Marvel universe” vibes to it; probably all thanks to the master of fright himself Sam Raimi. What I found a bit odd was that it didn’t do the whole “slow reveal” tactic when it came to Scarlet Witch being the villain. I get she’s gone off the rails, but it felt a bit rushed. MCU’s version of America Chavez was cowardly and inexperienced; given that she’s a new character in this universe, I could cut her some slack. But Marvel Rising’s version was way better. Another gripe I had was that they didn’t spend enough time in each reality and it was always the same building 🏢 setting just dressed differently (how creative 😒). I hoped that they would go with the whole Rick and Morty angle when it came to exploring different realities and interacting with the different people there. But no, we got what we got. Speaking of which, My favorite scene was the MCU debut of John Krakowski as Mr. Fantastic. Fans have been wanting him in that role for years and now he’s here! Not only that, but appearing alongside him was Patrick Stewart’s Professor X from the original X-Men 2000 movies. I asked my friends what they thought and agreed with me when I said that this was definitely a Scarlet Witch movie more than a Dr. Strange movie. Story wise = could have been structured better. Bloodshed wise = on point 👌🏼. All in all, not a bad movie…just needed to expand itself a lot more. #drstrangeinthemultiverseofmadness #couldhavebeenexecutedbetter (at Regal Independence Plaza & RPX) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cd6N2SDOKiQ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
