          “  thaaaaaaaaaaaat         ”     ember sets aside another mutilated pumpkin as stan appears in the door way , exhales a lungful of air upwards to blow a tendril of teal hair out of her face before realizing too late that it’s coated in pumpkin guts. making a face , she swipes a hand through her hair and wipes that on the floor.     “        is because about nine of them did. i would not look in that trashbag if i were you and had a sensitive stomach.  ”     there’s a goop of pumpkin guts on her boot and , briefly , the boot flickers out of sight and the guts splatter onto the floor.     “  lets hope you’re a better pumpkin carver than me , stan.  ”

           it seemed unreal that he’d never carved a pumpkin before. for a demon who is all about halloween he’d never bothered to take the plunge. it seemed like a lot of work and who did he have to show off to? even if it did turn out half-way decent? but something tugged him toward the pumpkins during a late night snack run. he’d made sure to get the proper tools, paper towels and some plastic bowls. this would work. 

           but half-way through the process dom is realizing it’s...much harder than youtube videos make it seem. watching tutorial after tutorial he figured he could cut a fucking pumpkin. gutting had been the easiest thing and maybe he’d gotten too eager. the nose looks like a mouth and he’s almost certain the mouth he has made it too small. cleaning it off the demon grumbles under his breath before opening his apartment door to place the pumpkin out on the stoop. it may look like garbage but...it’s his garbage. but as he turns to walk inside the comment sends rage through him. 

            “ hey buddy, i don’t remember askin’ for your opinion. ” the reaction is harsher than it should be but...fuck he worked for hours on the stupid thing.

so lets start this off with a funny story, shall we? years ago – before i took my tumblr hiatus – willow and i were in a fandom together; willow wrote my all time favorite interpretation of this character. me being a super awkward bean at the time literally was like “this person is too rad for me” so i talked rather minimally to her. fast forward to when i made eddie – we bond through a server and become fast friends; weeks into that friendship, we discussed and realized who each of us were. THAT might not be funny to anyone else, but the whole time we had no idea where each other had gone and there were big sads to be had – but somehow by tumblr magic we ended up finding each other again. 

WITH THAT SAID, i have loved willow for a very long time. whatever character she picks up she puts her whole goddamn heart and soul into writing them – honestly i live for people just being so incredibly passionate about who they are writing that its infectious and willow definitely is one of those people. no matter what character, whether they be good or bad, she has a way of analyzing them and figuring that out that is just utterly beautiful. not only that but she’s a phenomenal writer – and i don’t know what i did to deserve someone in my life who is so incredibly talented, but i’m living for it and she needs to know about it.

      " Those guys are a bunch of jackasses. ” Her voice cuts through the tense air of the bright afternoon, expression strained with ire as the sound of a car speeding off grows fainter and fainter. Clutched in her hands was the bag that was none-too gently lobbed halfway down the road, worse for wear but still holding strong. Blue eyes flit downward and Bee offered a warm smile, holding it out to him with a shake of her head. 

      “ Too bad their aim is shit. Couldn’t even toss the thing in the trash properly like some greasy little litterbugs. Here. ” A gentle pat on the side of it as she offers a small wink, “ Everything’s still in there, last I checked. ”

“Right? Who in the FUCK wants to spend $600 and some fucking change for a goddamn playground their kid could fucking crack their head open on?! Stan. STANLEY. You don’t have to tell me the risks of getting this fucking thing – the last thing I want is to spend every fucking weekend at the goddamn hospital because Tree’s busted her fucking head open!” Chest heaves as panic sets in, Eddie grips to his chest as eyes slammed shut, a mantra repeating to himself silently as he tries to calm the fuck down. He knows damn well he doesn’t have asthma, had spent years working through the bullshit his Mom had put him through – but still, the panic was an instant trigger causing fingers to itch in an attempt to grab for the inhaler that no longer inhabited his jacket pocket. Breathing techniques were something he had worked on to help the calm, something that had taken him years to perfect and keep that rising panic from turning into the explosion his Mom had it out to be.

Sigh leaves lips as eyes flutter open and he shakes his head, body still shaking from being so worked up, but here he was. Another false asthma attack down.

“Maybe we should try another fucking store, huh? I don’t want to go killing my fucking kid with some piece of shit playground.”
