Melinda ignored the eyes that followed her as she made her way through the corridors. The stares of the agents did not concern her, especially not right now. Not when she had more important things to deal with, such as what was going on with Phil.
As expected, she found him in the Director’s office. Though Mace was still Director for appearance’s sake, certain events had transpired in her absence which put Coulson back in charge. She liked that. As far as she was concerned, no one could do a better job at leading SHIELD.
She paused as she reached the doorway, silently watching him for a few moments before she crossed over the threshold.
“Hey.”
