Count Bass Dick, that’s it. No joke
“Ayo Wyd?” - 12:17 am EST - Friday, August 20
Okay, I’m going to say something that may or may not be obvious to say out loud but … I ONLY KNOW COUNT BASS D BECAUSE OF MF DOOM!
okay, I needed to get that off my chest for a while now.
Count Bass D’s “CBD” was a really fucking good album considering that I thought I was totally going to hate this (well not hate but maybe dislike). Now the only reason that I thought that "CBD" wasn't going to be good, is because "CBD" is Count's newest and latest album in his discography. Count ain’t new freshman, he been making music for a grip so honestly, I thought it was going to be feel dated.
Now usually when a rapper/artist has a long career, there newer music can feel dated or not up with the times, whatever that means. But, Count Bass D has a style that I can tell has no era. His instrumentals are very much new to me but feel so nostalgic. Count’s lyricism had to convince me before the instrumentals had to. almost like they’re made exactly for him!! (prob because he fucking made them he’s holding the MPC in his hand). Regardless, Count’s personality shines with this album and convinces me to take a deep dives into his older music. Plus like basically all the tracks made it onto my playlist. Fly.
TLDR: Count makes really fly beats with decent lyricism, mentions doom too much.
1. Busy
2. Nobody
3. I Can’t Tell
4. Am I the Only One
5. Nose Bone
6. One Man Roots
7. Be Mine
8. Someone as Wonderful as You
9. Show Love
10. BYOB
11. Break Bread
(Side note: I don’t like the idea of number ratings so I’ll just show how many of the tracks from the album I added to my personal Spotify playlist, just for reference.)
