Something Eldest would never tell anyone is that as he got older and was left to do the littlest stuff, it made him very angry and bitter, and he felt he would get weak dealing with nothing but wastrels. He had devoted his entire life to Hellsing, and now all he was doing was service work? He is a fighter and would rather die in a bloody battle he has zero chance of winning than let age take him, and all he really loves more than anything is a challenge, the closer to killing him, the better. In short, he has zero desire to be coddled or treated specially because of his age. He had wanted to remain in active duty until he died. He was born a fighter, and he would be damned if he wouldn't die one.
