          after a quick hand off with wade, and a sweep through to the detectives bullpen in order to retrieve the cookies from steve’s desk-- bucky’s footfalls are rapid through the precinct, perhaps a little heavier than necessary but-- in his defense, he’s got some tension to work out before he gets down to the gym. once outside, the sergeant pauses-- hands on the cold metal of the door and he wills his heart to steady, for the tension to roll from shoulders before he finally pushes inside.  slowly, QUIETLY-- tentative to steve’s needs.  once inside, he takes a look around. notes the the rather abused punching bag with a pained look before taking a controlled breath. 

          “stevie? it’s me, it’s bucky. just me, i promise. where you at?”

                         THE  MORNING  IS  JUST  BEGINNING,  THE  SUN  ROSE  ONLY  A  FEW  HOURS  PRIOR.        today,  he  &  steve  are   supposed   to  go  down  to  the  gym  so  bucky  can  give  steve  the  ins–n–outs  of  training  to  box.  james  thought  it  was  a  good  idea  to  give  steve  more  power  in  the  fights  he  relentlessly  picked.  though,  as  he  heads  over  to  the  empty  home  where  sarah  rogers  used  to  bake  him  cookies,  sparking  the  love  for  the scent,  steve  is   no  where   to  be  found.  brows  knit  together,  it’s  odd  for  steve  to  not  be  where  he  says  he’ll  be  &  an  immediate  feeling  of  dread  rushes  over  him.

                        storming  out  of  the  home  his  friend  resides  in,  bucky  jogs  down  the  street  &  crosses  with  cars  honking  at  him.  the  normal  route  to  the  gym,  he  thinks  to  himself.  that’s  where  he’ll  be,  picking  fights  with  men  twice  —  if  not   three  times   his  size.  multiple  city  sidewalks  are  scaled  as  james  takes  the  path,  looking  left  &  right  at  every  turn  for  his  pal.  about  a  block  from  the  gym,  he  sees  a  group  of  shady  characters  leaving  an  alleyway  &  his  heart   thuds   in  his  chest  as  he  quickly  heads  into  the  alley  after  them.  those  stupid  newspaper–filled  shoes  stick  out  from  behind  some  crates.   oh  fucks  sake,  steve.  he  rushes  over  to  the  smaller  man’s  side  to  see  his  busted  lip,  crimson  beading  from  a  nostril,  an  eye  that  has  already   swollen  shut   &  other  cuts  scattered  with  the  torn  fabric  of  his  coat  &  button  up.

                        ❛  ah,   ya  punk...   c’mon  steve.  wake  up,  bud.  it’s  time  t’  go  home,  ❜        it’s  clear  that  steve  is  unconscious,  but  bucky  makes  his  best  effort  to  kneel  beside  him,  cradling  his  head  &   gently  smacking   the  other’s  cheek  to  get  him  to  come  to.        ❛  steve...  steve,  c’mon.  steve!  this  ain’t  the  end’a  the  line  &  you’re  too  stubborn  t’  give  up  on  me  now.  ❜        tears  well  in  icy  eyes  as  he  realizes  the  severity  of  the  situation,  hoping  the  eye  not  swollen  shut  will  just  open  before  he  has  to  take   drastic  measures.

a low hum is all steve gets in response for a moment. ❛ same. ❜ his head was tipped back, gray eyes shut as vibranium fingers gently scratch against steve’s scalp. calloused fingers trace against his own skin and the touches are enough to help him just relax into the couch they have since taken up.

it’s been so long since bucky has felt such a sense of calm. of peace. the only thing dampening the moment is the pins-and-needles growing in his leg under steve’s head but he isn’t bothered enough to break the moment.

mun name :     lily mun age :     27 character name :     steve rogers character age :     32 position at the hospital :     attending paediatric surgeon short bio   &   headcanons :     at the age of six years old , steve rogers has   always   wanted to become a doctor.   losing his dad around that time due to cancer   ,   he was always mesmerised by the way doctors did their very best to keep him alive.   and by the paediatric department to keep him occupied as best as they could.   being left with his mom   ,   he basically made it his goal to somehow pay back everything she’s ever given him   ;   a life   ,   the chance of going to college   ,   of going to medical school.   however   ,   at the age of twenty - two   ,   one year after graduating and starting med school he became   a father   of an adorable little girl named   annie.   it became a struggle   ,   but if it hadn’t been for his mom helping out   &   raising her with him while he attended classes   &   long shifts as an intern   ,   he never would have been able to keep her seeing as how the mother lost   all rights   due to her being a drug addict and nearly killed their child while she was too busy getting high.   steve worked his way up   ,   following his surgical residency   &   eventually becoming attending paediatric surgeon at the hospital.   

he has an incredible soft spot for children due to him being a father himself.

he hasn’t dated anyone in ten years because his main focus has always been his daughter.   despite his daughter being incredibly smart and making remarks over why he’s always alone.

he has several tattoos that are easily covered up because of his scrubs and coat   ,   but most are just important   &   relevant events that happened in his life.

he’s openly pansexual and does not hide it from his work place either.   while he hasn’t dated anyone   ,   there have been occasional hook-ups   &   one night stands   ,   but he rather not mention them often.

he’s very protective of annie   &   when he does nightshifts   &   his mother can’t keep her   ,   he managed to discuss with the chief to keep her at the hospital in the break room even if it’s just to let her sleep.   the whole hospital knows her either way.

he’s a   very insecure bean   &   will never take the first step when it comes to showing his attraction towards someone.   it almost needs to be spelled out for him or just told him point blank.

his work is his main focus   ,   and something he most definitely takes to the heart.   he can get rather invested in his work   &   sometimes extremely emotional if a surgery or a case doesn’t work out the way they planned   &   a patient passes away.
