Tonight I'm counting the wins because I'm noticing the positive new things the universe is sending me. Yesterday's wins came in the form of the new.
Win 1: I got my new bed! I assembled the beast. I layed down my new mattress and put on my new bedding. Now this may not sound like big deals to most, but this symbolizes starting anew. Starting fresh. I'm starting the new year based on the theme of new. Try new things, go on new adventures, meet new and interesting people... New and fresh. And this new bed, where I get a good sleep before starting a new day that has 24 hours of new possibilities, symbolizes that.
Win 2: I signed the adoption papers for these monkeys that light up my life and that Jazzy loved and accepted from day one. What a foster fail this was! I'm celebrating the growth of my small family. I'm also counting my blessings as these two truly do bring life into this household. They helped Jazzy out of a tough one as well and that, is priceless. This is new beginnings. New beginnings for them as permanent members of this family and new adventures and adorableness yet to come.
Win 3: A friend's daughter told me I was really pretty. Why is this a win, because naturally, shaving off all your hair can be quite an adjustment for anyone. I struggle with how I feel about my new hair. I go back and forth every 20 minutes and have really struggled with this new look; getting this compliment from such a bright and beautiful young lady was flattering and super sweet. The lesson, we don't compliment people enough anymore; be more generous and genuine with your compliments. We should be more willing to say "you're so kind" or "your hair looks great like that" because you never know how that can affect a person. We also need to change our reactions to a compliment. Stop thinking and acting like someone is trying to hit on you when they compliment you. Let people be kind. Make acceptance and gratitude the new autoresponses to a compliment. We need to be kinder to one another. Make people feel good about themselves and they will do the same for others. Imagine what good a group of confident, kind, considerate and determined people can accomplish?
