Learning: noun; the acquisition of knowledge or skills through experience, study, or by being taught. Something I believe we all take for granted. In today’s day and age, I don’t think we realize what is at the tip of our fingertips. We have the ability to literally teach ourselves anything through various sources like Youtube, Google, local libraries, or even online books. We don’t realize that our generation could be the most intelligent crop of students that ever lived, with the least amount of difficulty, but we can’t see what is right in front of us. Yet, if we were to take advantage of our 21st century resources, what would that mean? A constantly learning society, I believe, would lead to a better world. I believe learning is putting yourself out in a realm that you are uneducated, and learn from the experience. Live and learn, push yourself forward, work to be a better person, but don’t do this in ignorance. To me, learning is improving not just your mental capacity, but your physical and spiritual understanding. If you believe in something, learn about it and be able to defend it. For example, you don’t simply watch football for pure enjoyment and have no clue of what is going on, for there would be no purpose. You learn, and continue to learn more as you watch more and more of that sport or activity. I believe learning has more than just going to school and doing my homework, it is an action of curiosity and intention to become well-rounded. It expands us as people, learners, and as communicators.
