If you were wondering why Kim's wearing a ponytail in this episode, it isn't because it's a practical hairstyle when saving the world. It's so she has a strategic scrunchy.

"I'm telling you, bad road!" "He has a royal title!" "Which you can buy on the internet!" Ron's right. Royal title makes him MORE sus.

Taking an artifact out of its untouched temple. So great. Not colonizy at all. Look, Kim. I think you're working with the baddy here. Just sayin'.

Larry speaking Ron's own video game language to convince him to take on mystical monkey power is fantastic. Especially since he probably wouldn't have been willing to do so without the metaphor to distract him.

I really like that this event resonates throughout the series, and that Ron's monkey power "Comes and goes"

Always kinda loved how over the top this shot was.

And I will always adore Ron becoming kinda a Larry fan. It's cute. I really like this version of Larry. In his first two appearances, he's pretty rad. He's a geek, and he knows it, and he's honestly trying to connect with his cousin he's just, yanno, flat affect & hyperfications autistic coded. He does ask Kim if he's boring her in the last scene, and you know she'd have lied and then stewed about it if Ron weren't there being honestly interested. In his third appearance, his writing changes, and you can feel the writers holding a lot of disdain for him. It really sucks that instead of him remaining a chill character with his own interests and skills he ends up flanderized. ESPECIALLY in a show with so many other geeky characters who are allowed to stand on their own. But THIS kind of geek, the DnD and fantasy nerd who writes fanfic, HE'S a GROSS nerd later on. Suck my dick, he's awesome, and he should've been allowed to stay that way.
