I've been thinking about my ocs Esther and Cyrus a lot recently though, so I'll talk about them!
Magic/enhanced abilities (and hybrids) are VERY new in their world and everything is kind of a mess (including the legal system). All of these things came about scientific experimentation but the situation has only gotten worse now that people are having kids (abilities are being passed down).
Cyrus is one of those people who was passed down an ability but was also later given hybrid traits. He doesn't have support from his family anymore and has pretty much become somewhat of a criminal. Esther is in similar boat to him with her losing her family (still figuring out the details of this) and they both team up. Both of them are really close (specifically in a qpr) already when the story starts.
The plot begins when a large bounty is put on both of there heads (presumably by a bigger legal presence) and they immediately start becoming hunted down. In comes Asna, someone working under a huge corporation who is contractually obligated to help them.
I guess the story and characters focus a lot on found family, of making you own version of people you call home and of trying to find yourself after being forcibly changed.

🌓 opinions on the watcher lore?
I actually like the concept of watchers! There's something cool about some eldritch creature kidnapping a bunch of people a shoving them into a death game. I do think some things are way overdone (I'm not a huge fan of the "the watchers curse everyone" thing), but its neat that everyone has different interpretations
🌿 any favourite interpretations?
Love the idea that each series takes place during a specific season (like 3rd life takes place during autumn, last life takes place during winter and so on) Its just really nice to visualise

I like to think of them as connected! The minecraft multiverse is a fun concept to me
