Beryl

Gem Location: Teeth Weapon proficiency: A steel jaw; various breath type attacks, prefers fire. Backstory: Beryl was a notorious thief and all around criminal. There are not many crimes this bad gem hasn't committed. During a fantastic solo career, Beryl found herself in a prickly situation. Surrounded by people hoping to take her hostage or otherwise incapacitate her, she was alone and scared. After a difficult fight, Beryl managed to escape, but not without being heavily wounded first. Once she was far enough away from the group to feel safe, she promptly collapsed. She remembers nothing up until waking up with Achroite caring for her. Beryl was shocked by this stranger’s kindness, but Achroite sternly announced that there was no way she could abandon someone in need of help. After this event, Beryl decided that she wanted loyal people like Archoite by her side. The two became good friends before Beryl asked her if she wanted to join Beryl’s “star fleet," a soon to be gang. Achroite reluctantly joined, thus marking the start of a grand adventure. Personality: Beryl is proud and loud; she loves showing off and be admired. While she lives for thrilling experiences, she’s matured over her time as a thief and knows when to bail. Beryl is fiercely protective of her gang members and will readily snap at anyone who makes them uncomfortable. Dancing style: Breakdancing (Snapping) Relationships: Agate - Beryl pities Agate’s sad past, but doesn’t dote on her because of it. Instead, Beryl has decided that from the time that they met, Agate’s going to live the best life possible. She adores hanging out with Agate and going on adventures together. Tourmaline - Beryl refuses to be prejudiced against Tourmaline because of the incident. Beryl respects Tourmaline and treats her like an equal. They get along for the most part, but Beryl’s fiery attitude chips away at Tourmaline’s patience once in a while. Indicolite - Beryl loved Indicolite’s creativity and individuality. After the incident, Beryl was not sure how to feel about her. She resolved that Indicolite’s actions were not her own and that her corruption was largely at fault, but Beryl wonders if there was some truth in what she said. Achroite - Beryl owes her life to Achroite. The two got along surprisingly well and often had conversations lasting days at a time. Now Beryl misses her desperately, but knows that Achroite wouldn’t want Beryl to mope around because of it.
