Being sick I’ve had so many real bad/interesting/ crazy dreams
I’m so tired of waking up crying or panicking bc I think I’m back in the hospital.
This heartbreak and ptsd is too much at times.
How do I make it stop?
My COVID dreams are shifting. Until vaccines became widely available in our area, I had a recurring nightmare in which I would find myself standing in a public space where masks were mandatory but I wouldn’t have one. I could only frantically attempt to cover my face and look for an exit.
Post-vaccine I didn’t have that dream again. Last night though, I had my very first “Oh no, I have COVID” nightmare.
I hate dreams like this because, in my Mom’s family, many of us have these weird ass and completely USELESS psychic premonitions.
Why “useless”? Well, they come to us while sleeping so as far as we can tell, it’s just a dream. There’s nothing special that indicates ‘Ooooooooohhhhhh thiiiiiiiiis is a viiiisiiiioooooon…’ *wavy hands.” And they happen so seldom, we can never assume it’s real.
By the time we realize it’s “a thing” THE thing has already happened and all we can say is, “Yeah, I dreamed that would happen.”
Also, the dreams are typically so mundane that they wouldn’t raise any flags. I once dreamed my brother, who I would see maybe four times a year, was in a minor car accident. Like a fender bender. No big…
The next day my mother called (she rarely does) and said she had to go pick up my brother because his car was in the shop. His brakes had failed the previous day, but luckily he was lined up at a fast food window and he only lightly bumped the person in front of him.
So, yep, pretty useless! Hooray. 🤦🏻♀️
I’m going nowhere with this ramble.
