buizel, lopunny aanndd lurantis!

Buizel:

not my favorite │ average │ cute │ adorable │ best │ ultimate fave

I love buizel! I love most animals in the mustelidae family, which includes otters (which buizel is based on), and its twin tails always reminded me of Tails from the Sonic series. Buizel is great. ♥

Lopunny:

not my favorite │ average │ cute │ adorable │ best │ ultimate fave

I’m sure lopunny is a great pokémon, but its design is kind of … like, it’s cute. It’s not an ugly pokémon, but it also … I mean, it was inspired by Playboy bunnies, or bunny girls. And I just—I’ve been around for a long time. I know what people do. And every time I look at lopunny, I think about that. I don’t want to think about that, and I’d honestly rather think about anything else, but I can’t help but Know™ as soon as I see lopunny. Like, I’m sure that kind of content exists for every pokémon, but there are some pokémon that inspire those people more than others, and let’s be honest and not kid ourselves, lopunny is one of those pokémon.

So I’m sure lopunny is great, but I remember … unfortunate things when I see it, and on top of that, if I was going to use a normal-type, I’d go for others before lopunny anyway.

Lurantis:

I actually have something of a grudge against lurantis due to Mallow’s trial in Sun Version. None of the pokémon that I had with me at the time had an—okay, that’s slightly wrong. What I mean to say is, the pokémon that I had with me that had an advantage against grass-types were not at high enough levels to be able to deal with Totem Lurantis’ nonsense of its buddy castform using Sunny Day and then lurantis spamming Solar Blade and Morning Sun or whatever the fuck the combo was. I kept getting decimated. It wasn’t until Hayate, my rockruff—who, mind you, had a disadvantage against grass!!—decided to step up and be the champion of all champions that I managed to get through it. I was humiliated that I had such a hard time against a grass-type (it was all because I didn’t pick the fire starter; picking rowlet made my life hard), and it cemented a grudge against lurantis ever since.

That said, I’m sure lurantis is a lovely pokémon when trained by lovely people, but every time I see it I’m still going to remember failing that trial about four times before I finally passed it.

i did but i deleted it because it ended up pretty dead. i wanna try bringing him back though and seeing if i can make him a more individual character.
