A little peek into my current farm, sitting at Spring Year 3! Aside from aesthetics, the main mod for this farm is the Fresh Farm Produce mod, which is really pushing me to diversify my production and make the most out of my land 🔥 it’s been a really fun mod to play with!
Also I’m just in love with how the farm looks visually 💛 maybe I’ll share my favorite basic visual edit mods soon, although most of them are very well known. Zenith Farm is just such a fun layout as well, I’ve loved getting a second shot at utilizing it for real
I’m sooo excited to finally try out the witchy/fantasy farm I’ve been designing for months now ☺️ I’ve added a ton of big and small expansions to this, from East Scarp (+Sword and Sorcery, Bear Family, and Metalcore Goes Cottagecore) to Alchemistry to Distant Lands. I’m excited to share my favorites with you all as I explore these mods!
I’ll also be posting a list of all the aesthetic mods I mixed to create the vibes soon!! For now I’ll say it’s a lot of Aimon, Bog, and VoidWitchCult 🧙♀️
The final shots from my floral farm! I'm so happy with how it turned out <3 It was fun to have a tiny farm for once and not worry about animals. I know the greenhouse isn't full of trees yet, but I'm not patient enough to wait around for more to grow lol
Flowers used, visual mods used, farm map used, greenhouse used
I recently finished up another farm and wanted to share what I’m most proud of - my orchard!! I’ve been experimenting with outdoor orchard layouts in my last few farms, and I really love how this one turned out ☺️ I think the stone pathing and uneven spacing just adds such a pretty vibe!
The additional trees are courtesy of Kalash, the edited Meadowlands Farm is courtesy of Hamio, recolor courtesy of Kookiefroggie, and the foliage (including grass + the mystic tree) is courtesy of Elle. All amazing mods that you should absolutely check out or read more about in my mod rec lists!
I’m absolutely IN LOVE with the visuals on my new save. Trying a challenge run where I earn most of my money from flowers and honey! Lots of modded flower crops and artisan goods, along with dialogue and visual edits 💕🌸
I've been sifting through screenshots from my various farms over the years, and thought it might be fun to go over all the different farm maps I've used! Some of them are modded, some are vanilla, and I've included my thoughts on all of them c:
If you have a favorite farm map, modded or vanilla, I'd love to hear about it! There's always another farm on the horizon for me, so ideas are always great to have <3
Standard Farm: I feel like as a first time player you really can't beat the classics. This map is easy to plan for, gives you a ton of flexibility, and really doesn't impose many restrictions.
Riverlands Farm: I don't know what possessed me to go from "easy square" to Riverlands, but somehow it all worked out lol. This farm is a challenge but one I found really fun! I think figuring out what each island could be used for was my favorite part, as well as all the water for the ducks to swim in <3
Forest Farm: I enjoyed this farm, but honestly this was one of the more forgettable maps for me. I don't think the foraging/stumps were too important to my late-game play, and the design is another big square like the Standard farm.
Zenith Farm: Baby's first modded farm!! It's available on Nexus for 1.6, and I highly recommend. Daisyniko has made an absolutely gorgeous layout here with plenty of built-in animal pens and crop space. It also has the benefit of being large but having minecarts/other teleports to help you get around. I liked this farm so much I'm actually using it again for my current farm!
Meadowlands Farm: 1.6 dropped and of course I had to use the new map! This was actually my first and only perfection run, and I did it completely vanilla. Weirdly I ended up not really utilizing ALL the space on this farm, as it has some weird ponds and such. I think it would be a fun map for a ranching challenge, with the river and the built-in blue grass.
(cut for length, keep reading for more!)
Flowering Falls Farm: Another mod, available on Nexus for 1.6! Honestly I think I really just like having a water feature on my farms lmao. I picked this map because it wasn't too big and had a nice crop layout already planned. Unfortunately it does have a few downsides/glitches - decorations are permanently baked in, grandpa's shrine is on the floaty side, if you move the greenhouse the grass textures underneath get real funky, etc. It also appears that the mod author hasn't been active for a while on the page, so just be aware of those little details if you download.
Katu's Honey Creek Farm: Okay, now this farm is gorgeous but DOES need a few disclaimers before I can rec it. Officially it is 1.6 compatible, but based on the comments section there are still some lingering issues. The mod author isn't active any more due to personal reasons (so valid), so I wouldn't recommend using this mod unless you feel confident troubleshooting on your own/with the help of the already posted comments. If you're cool with that, then the map is on Nexus and a lot of fun - huge diverse biomes, beautiful decorations, a quarry, and teleport stations that make traversing it easy-peasy.
Raspberry Fields Farm: Daisyniko is at it again lol, map is on Nexus for 1.6 here. This is another super organized farm where the work of planning has already been done for you! Which, if you're like me and kind of suck at organizing/decorating, is pretty nice lol. I really appreciate the different sections of the farm, and the fact that there's a teleport option to get from one corner to the next if you need to.
Solo Four Corners Farm: This is where it becomes obvious I have a bias for Daisyniko farms (Nexusmods map here, 1.6 ready) lmao. A friend had told me how much they liked the Four Corners vanilla map, so this mod seemed like a great option! And it's gorgeous work as usually honestly, with good options for decorations on/off and nods to the original Four Corners map throughout. It just ended up being a little bit too big for me, and a decent amount of the land went unused before I moved on.
Tiny Garden Farm: After feeling a little overwhelmed for several farms in a row, I turned the corner and went in the other direction for a tiny farm! The map (Nexusmods, 1.6 ready) is a gorgeous one, with juuuuust enough space for crops and animals if you want both. I ended up turning mine into a purely floral farm, which was a really fun challenge!
Zenith Farm (again): I just started a new farm on the Zenith map, and I'm really excited to fully develop it this time, as the 1.6 update cut me off in year 1 last time.
The farm is starting to take shape 🌼 I've added a shed for all the flower processing machinery, got my greenhouse, and started trying to make a cute little honey area. Decorating is NOT my forte, so I'm just trying my best on this farm!! I also tweaked a few more visual mods, including turning the rarecrows into owls 🦉
In terms of marriage prospects, the two top contenders rn are Elliot or Older Sebastian 👀
