I recently finished up another farm and wanted to share what I’m most proud of - my orchard!! I’ve been experimenting with outdoor orchard layouts in my last few farms, and I really love how this one turned out ☺️ I think the stone pathing and uneven spacing just adds such a pretty vibe!

Cozybug Mod Recs: Kookiefroggie’s Recolor
I don’t usually do posts for just one mod, but I wanted to shine a spotlight on one that I’m really excited about: Kookiefroggie’s Recolor
I entered the world of SDV recolors in probably the same way most folks do, through Daisyniko’s Earthy Recolor. It’s what I would consider a classic, and has really strong compat with most mods. I’ve personally never been bothered by Stardew’s more “vivid” or “saturated” color style, so it took me until very recently to explore recolors. And Earthy is a darn good one! I found myself really loving the rich browns and greens, and the way that winter looked especially.
But after seeing chatter about a new recolor mod that had just hit Nexus, I decided to give Kookiefroggie’s a go - and boy am I glad I did!
This recolor just has so much vibrancy to it, from the rich browns of the cliffs to the deep greens of the grass. A recent update lets you make slight changes between the seasons, but one of the coolest things about this recolor is how consistent it makes the Valley feel. Everything doesn’t just change overnight, instead there’s a steady background palette to make your foliage mod of choice stand out even more!
One thing I also really appreciate about this mod is how it’s actively being updated based on community input! The author recently pushed a few huge updates that added features being talked about in the comments and more. Now you can make tiny adjustments to the color profile/saturation of different aspects of the terrain, as well as choose to add more snow in winter (my personal favorite addition). The author is also adding compat with lots of tilesheets and other mods, which makes it easy to play with other mods in tow!
So if you’re interested in trying a new recolor, and want one with lots of customization options, active support/development, and a unique style, give this one a try!
Cozybug Mod Recs: Trees and Such
Ever since I built my first outdoor orchard in Stardew, I have fallen in love with the concept. I just think it’s so darn pretty to have a nice lil area full of trees, watching the leaves change color with the seasons and collecting all the delicious fruit! This also means I’m a sucker for mods that add new trees to the game, and today I have a few that I think will be a fantastic addition to any game.
All mods are 1.6 compatible, on Nexusmods, and compatible with each other, as I was using them all at the same time
Kalash’s More Fruit Trees
As the name implies, this mod adds a huge variety of fruit trees to the game. But it doesn’t stop there! There are also two new crops, new machines and processing methods, and tons of recipes to use your new fruit in! Collecting the saplings is part of the fun too, as even though a majority of them are sold by Pierre for straight up cash, you’ll have to explore a little more to find the rest of them. You might even have to barter with a few familiar friends to complete your orchard ;)
I have been absolutely loving this mod since I installed it, as the amount of content and the quality of it all is just superb. The mod author is still actively providing support and updates, which is awesome, and the mod page has a pretty robust description of all the content included in the mod. I especially enjoy the fact that a majority of the trees are based on real ones, so I get to learn about cool new fruits!
Dee’s Nuts a Chestnut Expansion
This mod is short and sweet and does exactly what it says on the tin! It adds a chestnut sapling that you can purchase from Pierre, alongside 3 ways to process the nuts. You’ll receive mail from certain villagers about the new additions so you won’t have to guess or go blindly searching, and several villagers will be thrilled to receive those new items!
I’m just a sucker for a mod that’s clearly a labor of love. This is just a fun little mod that adds another cool tree to the valley and has a silly lil name. What’s not to enjoy? I especially enjoy having another loved gift for Linus, as he’s always one of my first friends.
Appleseed’s Extra Forage and Fermentation
From the creator of the Baubles mod, among other fantastic things, comes a fun little addition to the wild food of the Valley. This mod adds one new tree, one new berry (and plantable bush), a new machine, and a handful of new artisan goods and recipes. As expected from this creator, the pixel art is absolutely gorgeous!
Even though it’s not exclusively tree focused, I still wanted to include this mod because the pixel art is just too good! I really love how the new tree looks, and I think it’s such a fun mechanic to have to grow and then chop down the trees in order to harvest their unique resources. The mod author recommends Vanilla Tweaks alongside this mod, and I very much agree as the styles just blend seamlessly.
Honorable Mention: Cornucopia More Crops
I really hope that anyone reading this has already heard of the Cornucopia mods, but I couldn’t make a list of tree mods and not shout out the one that fueled my very first orchard! Aside from the huge amount of incredible crops this mod adds, it also adds up to 25 new trees! Each one is done in absolutely gorgeous pixel art that you’d come to expect from the Cornucopia team, and the fruits can all be used in a variety of crossovers with other Cornucopia mods. More Flowers even adds 5 more trees if you’re still not satisfied!
A small caveat here: I have not used Cornucopia More Crops with the other mods on this list, but from what I’ve seen in the descriptions they shouldn’t cause any problems together. At worst, there might be a few duplicate trees in your orchard with unique internal IDs!

Waterfall Pond: Multi-level Design
Proud owner of the best garden in Pelican Town ✌️🫡
I explored a little bit more with my previous waterfall pond design and it got upgraded like this.
It's so fun trying to place the bushes and rocks to create the illusion of a more elevated terrain, while in reality it's just a flat ground xD

Like in my previous post, the waterfall is added by using Map Editor Extended. I found out if you hold shift button while selecting a tilesheet, you can choose multiple tiles and hence, animation works!
The swan is actually a crab pot and not an actual livestock animal, let's pretend she lives there on the pond.
I wish there were more mods which include large rocks and stones to diversify the look, but so far I only found Cherry Lake Tilesheet (personally converted), and CP Some Furniture. I also converted the big rock from Simple Resources.
Times like these I miss the debug objects from TS4 and the cheat to giganticize or minimize the objects. The rocks, bushes, and the ability to paint the terrain... save me sims 4 landscaping tools

Flower Garden - Apiary
This is the beekeeping area of my flower garden. I plan to use the building to make a small cafe/bakery serving honey-based tea and snacks from Wildflour's Atelier Goods! I'm still choosing the interior map though, should it be a large map, or a small map?
In front of the building, I put some jars (of honey) and a let's say honey lemonade. The sign says free tester ^^ in the hopes of encouraging visitors to enter the bakery and taste more honey-based delicacies~
I am trying to go for a warm atmosphere here, so the honeybees can live comfortably and the honeys taste more refreshing~ the global God rays really helped a lot with this.
In hindsight, I should have added the Bees' Knees Apiary from Rose and the Alchemist mod 😳 but I ran out of space. Well it can be placed somewhere else then!
Let me just add the version with a little bit more sunlight, she's a bit bright though hehe
