Her plan had been a simple one really. Get her girls together and hit the town to forget all about catching her boyfriend with some nameless girl she didn’t know. A girl she didn’t need to the name of, because Colette wasn’t mad at the other woman, all of her anger was set on her cheating other half. The plan got derailed the instant she’d discovered all of her friends had plans for the night. Knowing if she stayed home she’d spend the time throwing herself a pity party, she decided to head out anyway. Grabbing the smallest black dress she owned, she curled her hair, slipped on a pair of heels before proudly marching down to the bar. As soon as she opened the door to the bar, she was overcome with the urge to spin on her heel and go back home. Suddenly the loneliness hit. Going to a bar alone wasn’t a foreign concept for her, at times she thrived alone, that night however all she needed was someone who knew her to tell her she was worth their time – that they weren’t about to replace her with someone else without offering her the basic courtesy of telling her they wanted someone else before driving the knife in. Eyes flashing with unresolved anger, her facial expression softened as soon as she saw him. Colette wasn’t a fan of most of her boyfriend’s friends, but Nate was a different story, he was always easy to be around – and wasn’t that what she needed? Putting on her best happy-go-lucky face, she walked over to Nate before she could talk herself out of it. “Don’t suppose you’re looking for company tonight?” @pastawrites
