Tonight’s pipe is from this years slow smoking competition at the Chicago show.
As a nice change for this shift I’m trying out an aperitif having part filled the bowl with Bacon Old Fashioned with a layer of Brown Bogie and topped off with more Bacon Old Fashioned.
The different layers cause quite a startling change but it’s quite a good combination for a dreary night shift.
I really enjoy opening a new tin. I bought this time of Frog Morton from the Iwan Ries stall at this years Chicago Pipe show, it’s resting just now and I’ll have the first bowl later on while on patrol. Today’s pipe is my 2016 MM Legend.
Back in the motherland. After leaving St Charles at lunchtime yesterday I arrived back home about 1500 today. I had an excellent time at this years Chicago Pipe show, I met a lot of great people and smoked some really old and really good tobaccos. I also came back with some really cool swag, photos to come soonish. I've started unpacking and sorting stuff out but now I'm relaxing with some Famous Grouse. I smoked one bowl in my Kaywoodie while sitting in Frankfurt airport and that's it for yesterday and today, in stark contrast to the last few days.
I’ve finally gotten around to posting photos of my haul from this years Chicago Show, First up is a 2017 CPCC T-shirt to go with llast years version. At the same time I also bought a t-shirt with a pocket and CPCC logo left over from last year.
The next one is a Cornell & Deil t-shirt that I got free when I purchased some tobacco from their table.
The next two are from Missouri Meerschaum, a t-shirt with a logo on the back (pic 4) and a hoodie which is fantastic.
Last but not least is this Power to the Pipers badge I bought from The Pipe Tart on Sunday afternoon, not long after I bought a pipe from her.
Preperations now complete, Bags packed and passport looked out. Tomorrow I fly for Chicago! Roll on CPCC2017

I was incognito today, no #kilt or #pipe as I enjoyed a very nice #hupmann #cigar to end a very long and busy day at #cpcc17 now I’m looking forward to tomorrow.
