This last Upstead scene from 5x07 doesn’t get enough credit because both Jesse and Tracy’s acting was phenomenal:

Also Hailey called Jay’s name 4 times in the scene. The first two were softer and gentler, but then he turned his gun on her. You can see his pained expression which just absolutely breaks me ⬆️

And then she comes into focus. Which represents Jay coming out of his PTSD fog. And you can see the realization on his face as to what’s he done / currently doing. He’s so distraught already but that just added an extra layer to it ⬆️

What I liked about Hailey was that she didn’t immediately rush to judgement or to say anything to control the situation. She just stood by to let him know she was there, if he needed her. The pain in her eyes was evident too. She didn’t know exactly what to do for Jay, but she didn’t leave him alone. ⬆️

POOR. JAY. HALSTEAD. 😩 ⬆️

Concerned girlfriend award goes to hailey. Yes I said it. No I’m not sorry. Cause LOOK AT HER LIKE 🥺 she is HEARTBROKEN. also applause for her not being accusatory or questioning or anything else like Erin could be occasionally. Hailey was just there for Jay. That’s all she could do. And let’s not forget she called him later (bad boyfriend to Jay for not picking up the phone!) even AFTER he pointed a gun at her! She still tried to help him even when he couldn’t help himself. If that’s not care beyond “just a partner” idk what is. ⬆️
