What kinds of Doctor Who companions would the members of TADC be?
(a combination of two recent fixations of mine)
(Just the main 6 cuz I can't think of anything for anyone else. Caine is the Master or smth idk.)
Pomni
I imagine Pomni would be about as weirded out by the world of the Doctor as she was by the circus, and would learn about and be accustomed to it in a similar way. I think she could work as a companion the Doctor finds after going through a traumatic event (like the Time War or a heart-wrenching companion departure) and help them heal and regain their humanity (like Rose with the Ninth Doctor). As she'd grow more confident, her relationship with the Doctor would grow very strong, ultimately leading to a finale where they both heroically help save the day (and maybe the Doctor regenerates for a "companion gets used to a new Doctor" storyline). The writers would probably be merciful and give her a regular departure on good terms with the Doc.
Jax
I see two ways his tenure as a companion would go.
1: annoying jerk who the writers give no development to and just kill off without a glimpse of redemption. Half the community hates him and the other wishes he had an actual arc. (Somewhere between Adam and Adric)
2: actual development that turns him from an annoying jerk into a likable decent person. Acts non-chalant about the whole time-travel-TARDIS thing but slowly reveals just how much he thinks it's cool.
There will be no in-between for Jax. The death is horrific either way.
Gangle
A companion who starts off unsure of the Doctor and who takes a few adventures to get comfortable with. I could definitely imagine a scene where the Doctor helps comfort her, like the 2nd Doctor did with Victoria or the 3rd did with Jo Grant. Prevalent risk of her being flanderized by the writers as "the scaredy, sad one". She has HEART-BREAKING departure that neither the Doctor nor the TARDIS team nor the viewers get over. Certified narrative haunter.
Zooble
The type of companion who would take no bullshit from the Doctor (I say that as a good thing, the Doctor needs more Stevens and Donnas and Tegans). I could imagine Zooble being tired of their monotonous life and being interested in travelling the universe, but with strong boundaries (standing on business like a Zoobleboss). With the help of occasional clashing which strengthens their bond, the two would definitely grow a strong AND PURELY PLATONIC relationship. Optionally, have Zooble and Gangle travel together for a slowburn relationship (which the Doctor is the #1 supporter of) which ends in Gangle's death and Zooble leaving the Doctor. Runner up for the character who has the most potential as the Doctor instead of a companion, being a more serious, down-to-earth incarnation like 9 or 12.
Ragatha
I really see a Donna Noble storyline with Ragatha: a woman with a boring life with no job and no aspirations, randomly meets the Doctor by sheer coincidence, and becomes best of friends with them. We could even have an equally depressing departure! (not mind-wipe necessarily but just as bad if not worse). A bit of a pushover at first, but learns to stand up for herself and grows as a character. She'd definitely be in many people's top five favourite companions and would probably come back to the show after some time (yes she's basically Donna Noble sue me)
Kinger
The rare companion who's a middle aged adult and not a 20 something year old. I could DEFINITELY see him with a storyline like Wilfred Mott (we could even have him be Ragatha's Granddad for good measure). Assuming he's mostly lucid, he would be great at knocking some sense into the Doc and stopping hin form going haywire. Give him a traumatic death or departure we need it. First place for the most Doctor potential cuz he's just got the right mix of whimsy and maturity to pull it off.
These are all just my ideas and I'd love to hear yours!
