   Bucky had finally cleaned up after having breakfast with Tony. He had found the jacket that Sam had left behind as he decided to grab it to give back to Steve. The thought that Steve would question him on why he had his jacket instead of Sam hadn’t really crossed his mind yet. He wasn’t exactly a morning person but he had figured he’d just leave it in his office. Only that he didn’t think that Steve would be in his office as he stopped before going in. “You’re up early.” He said while he tried to nonchalantly set the jacket down on the chair by the door.

Bucky knew that Steve was worried for him. He understood that. It was definitely strange to be on the other end. Being cared for instead of doing the caring. He knew he was lingering behind him right now and he wasn't going to lie and say this was all going smoothly with no issues but he didn't want to worry his friend. "You can come out you know. I can feel you staring at me from the door."

Sam had taken off for a moment. Bucky wasn't as nervous as one might think and what little nerves there was were gone when he spotted his friend. He knew that he had something to say the moment he locked eyes with him in his costume and Bucky tried to look away as he let out a sigh, "Alright, just let it out already."

After having checked on Pepper and meeting up with Sam real quick, Bucky found himself making his way to Steve’s office. Last time he had been here, it was a much lighter feel to it despite the situation that surrounded them and now he just felt Steve’s tension from down the hall. He finally made his way and only knocked once to let him know that he was there before he took a seat in front of him the way he had that time. “How long have you been locked up in here?” He asked as he looked around before looking back at him, “And when was the last time you ate?”

   Bucky had the bag over his shoulder with his towel and an extra change of clothes because if he was being honest, he wasn’t sure how long he was going to stay. He also wasn’t sure if this was a good idea but the carnival didn’t go that badly so maybe this won’t either. He sighed before he looked over at him, “I don’t do good in the sun or near water, y’know.”

   Bucky’s attention snapped back to him almost instantly. Now that he didn’t like. Steve had none of the blame for what happened to him. No one did if he was being honest. “Hey.” His voice was firm. A lot more than what Steve was probably used to hearing from him. “Knock it off.” It lacked the usual joking tone that was slowly returning around the other. “Don’t talk about one of my favorite people like that, y’hear me?”

   Bucky didn’t think that it was a good idea for him to be let out this soon. He had found comfort in being isolated. Something he didn’t use to like before but that meant people were safe from him. Being out in the open like this was making him and those around him an easy target. Still. He didn’t really think he had much to say in the matter despite his protests. He already knew that he’d mention how it’d do him some good to see the sunlight. Bucky let out a dragged out sigh, “I just think we’re going to have regrets with this. What if something goes wrong?”

          “     no  ,   actually  ,   you  just  made  the  moment  bigger   ------   the  biggest  ,   really .     ”          THE  SNARK  LACING  VOCALS   oozes  from  pursed  lips  ,   the  hands  nestled  on  his  hips  showcasing  his  blatant  irritation  from  steve’s  blunt  sarcasm .   they’d  often  banter  like  this  ;   although  steve  has  quite  the  knack  for  getting  under  tony’s  skin  with  such  ease  and  calculated  precision .   if  anyone  didn’t  know  the  man  ,   one  would  think  he  was  doing  it  on  purpose     (   at  least  ,   tony  was  convinced  of  that  notion   ) .          “     can’t  you  just  let me  have  this  one  thing  ,   without  being  all  righteously  patriotic  and  shit ?   please  ,   steve .   it’s  killing  my  vibe .     ”
