The Fae Queen couldn't quite tell if he was amused, shocked or just teasing her. To be fair it was probably some sort of mixture of all three. Still, she turns back to him crowding her doorway with a cheeky grin. "Of course I do. Rain is the best form of fresh water and a lovely enough storm helps my garden grow." Her hands are on her hips then and she gives him a lingering but appraising look before stepping back down the porch steps.

Once she's free of the roofline, her smile grows while raindrops shower her from head to toe. After a moment, she extends her hand towards him. "Come on, join me in the rain. Tis rather warm still and I'd hate to waste such a lovely shower provided by Mother Nature...Please, Francis?" A small part of her wondered how she looked to him then; what sort of emotions was she inspiring in him?

The depressed sailor had come to the tavern to wallow in self pity, not to listen to the offerings of a shady blowhard. Immediately it became clear his haggard company found great pleasure in speaking. Hugh wondered if the head on the man's shoulders would tip at any second and spill overflowing pride.

Interest did spark from the sight of coin. Curiosity filled his eyes as they focused on his unwanted company. Taking in the man's appearance swiftly became overwhelming. "I'm reminded of cruel bastards I've only encountered in dusty old books when I look upon you." His grin was crooked and words bold. The drink had drowned all fear. "My own man, you claim. How can a man be their own while living under the rule of another?"

Dirty cup against his lips, he glared. The salesman did have undeniable charm, but no doubt there was more to his pitch. Last drop swallowed, the empty cup was shoved away. "And how much torture must I endure to be my own? Your riches are your riches and I imagine that will remain unchanged while I swab your decks and prepare your fish dinners."

IT'S NEARLY STRANGE, to feel the weight of his hands so completely against her form. layers of crinoline & a corset often acted as a buffer, a padding of sorts. delicate digits are drawn away from the doorhandles as she is pulled back. “ connor, you would think me so impolite? that i would forget myself in such a way? ” teasing, playing coy & feigning offense at his words. “ i simply wished to bask among the moonlight. ” liar, a fact they are both aware of, surely. she'll gently turn in his grasp, coming to face him completely.

“ my, you seem to think i had any other motive. does such a thought make you jealous? ” the final word is drawn out with a song-like tone.

A FIT OF giggles escapes her form as warm lips make contact with her permanently frigid skin. if blush could come naturally to porcelain cheeks, it surely would in this moment. “ connor! ” heightened tone, lilting & flowy. is it evident how entirely caught up within the whirlwind of accompanying him she is? a bright smile settles upon pale features, “ my, what a charmer you are. ”

SHE'S AS CLOSE to the doorway as one could get without exposing themselves to the sun's rays, maintaining quiet conversation with @cptncnnor. “ i suppose so, yes. ” sunless, the choice of words is ironic. if only he could enjoy the irony with her. “ we must do what we can in order to protect ourselves from harm, emotional or otherwise. i find i am certain you know a great deal about such a thing. ” / continued from here.

No, he doesn't enjoy the little flicker of adrenaline, and he definitely doesn't like the danger. Only a madman would, and he wasn't mad...was he?
