I've made a post abt this before but good god it's baffling to me how people are so attached to "he's my boy" while ignoring the rest of the context of that entire conversation but genuinely i don't know what the fuck people were watching if the main conclusion was nott as some wholesome childmother. Very sweet of her to say when she first met him he was a scared little boy and he's only grown after meeting her i guess. She's asserting that she's an adult making her own decisions and also that they don't know what's best for caleb like she does. Somehow this becomes abt how cute it is that caleb has a little mommy but nobody gaf abt nott saying that she needs caleb to save her even though she references that conversation during this one lol. Like to me she is saying caleb can be great but only with her protection and guidance and there is a fair bit of possessiveness and arrogance in that. She has a very genuine love and devotion to him but she is also depending on that love and devotion being reciprocated so that he can be useful to her. Like there's nothing selfless abt it

It’s easy to forget just how much of an absolute mess Caleb was early in the campaign, lmao, just out here pissing on a crownsguard helmet to attempt to prove that he’s not fond of the empire (47:20)

Carefully planned heists go awry, but the spur of the moment improvised theft of the beacon goes off without a hitch, it’s fucking flawless and it makes me so happy. (1:20:00)

I love seeing little slivers of the Jester and Nott friendship, Nott building up Jester for her getting the safe for free even though it’s not made of lead. (2:23:20)

Caleb’s sense of humor means a lot to me. (2:24:20)

God, I do love this argument, lmao. Some very fair points about the importance of teamwork and sticking to the plan, while also completely missing the fact that they waltzed into the High Richter’s place as her, and she was gonna come back from the party again at a later point in another outfit. I still don’t know how they were planning to keep anyone from realizing that. (2:36:00)

Taliesin has a flaw he seems to love working with in many of his characters (I know better than you, my perspective is the clearest and wisest, and I will now condescend to you, you dear sweet summer child with no idea how the world works) and god, it gets to me, lmao. He plays it excellently and I remember finding Molly infuriating in this moment when he’s condescending to Nott, though at least on the second go around, I just find it amusing. “I’m gonna use something a little bit more basic.” On the other hand, it has to be so fucking wild to be Veth, a fully grown halfling woman, clever as hell, having these people gently condescend to her and tell her they’re trying to protect her and look out for her. Man, this is why I love the Mighty Nein so much. They start off so at arms length with each other, all of them, even when they’re ganging up on Nott and Caleb here, it’s not like there’s that much trust shared between the rest of the group, they’re all keeping so many secrets and trust is earned. I love seeing Liam grin and nod along as Nott points out that she is the one looking out for Caleb, she’s not a child and they should stop treating her like one. (2:42:00)

Fjord is such a solid peacemaker in this group. Always the first one willing to step up as the voice of reason, cooling tempers, acknowledging points made, offering respect and understanding. I can’t imagine what this group of motherfuckers would have been like without him. (2:44:30)

listening back to the introduction of the Beacon, it’s crazy to me how much the MN misconstrue what it’s purpose is during the pre-Dynasty arcs

like, Matt did a pretty good job of outlining the basics of at least its cultural purpose during their interview with the echo knight, and I feel like all of that went completely out the window for how they talk about it until the next time an explanation can be provided dozens of episodes later
