Just thinking about how Pin was supposed to be something scary but wasnt scary and so Occtis shifted his focus to make him a familiar instead

And how I believed that he was trying to DIY a Hound of Ill Omen to be more like his shadow sorceror family

And then all of episode 4 happened

And Pin pushed his way out of Occtis' chest

Which is strikingly similar to the way Marisha always described Laudna summoning her Hound of Ill Omen

Every necromancer right before casting The Circle of Death being in fear of Patia Por'co's presence on the battlefield, hearing the legends of the Lacrytia Hollow losing to her Otiluke's Resilient Sphere

Okay okay

But why put the stone in Occtis

And then LEAVE HIM BEHIND

I get they have the heart and that's obviously something they needed

But based on the way Soul Occtis removed the spirit of the Stone from his chest in a metaphysical way and that fucked up their plans....

Did the actual stone and the physical body just not matter anymore? They did their thing and it mattered on the Tenebral Plane or whatever its called and the details remaining on the Material Plane are deemed insignificant?

Im just trying to rationalise why suddenly the stone stopped being important. Why did the stone need to go in the body if they werent taking the body or the stone with them

What was it they actually trying to achieve?
