I actually dont think Brennan was necessarily telling Kattigan he was wrong on that Nat 20, even though they all seemed to assume it. It was a 'Yes, but'. Yes, the Tacchonis ARE necromancers. Yes, they CAN raise the dead.

BUT the cost of raising the dead in a semblance of what they were...?

Perhaps...could be paid by the blood of an angel?
