6: who's always, always running late?

Tarni, not because she's easily distracted, but because she has EARNED this fuckin retirement, and you will be moving at HER pace, not the other way around.

8: who's the morning person, who's the night owl?

Finn is an early bird, quick to rise and get shit done so he can go back to not having to deal with people. Tarni is a night owl mostly because she's also got insomnia.

18: what are they like when drunk? When both are drunk? When only one is drunk?

Finn doesn't drink, doesn't LIKE drinking. The rare times it happened? That was post Tarni leaving. Tarni DOES drink, but she tends not to get drunk. Force of habit because 1: Finn hates drinking, and 2: being inebriated is a good way to get GOT.

That said, Tarni is a giggly, excited drunk, and Finn... has some serious anger issues when he's NOT drunk.

25: what do they like about each other?

Listen they are best friends, they are also. Incredibly married.

She likes his hands, his voice, his stupid impulsiveness that always gets him in too deep. He likes her eyes, her laugh, her absolutely terrifying willingness to do things at the drop of a hat if they make her life easier longterm.

Wwvhat wwvas supposed to be a simple business deal wwvent sour and a fight broke out at the docks. Tarni got caught off gaurd and showwved off a dock and into the wwvater, cracking her head on the edge in the process. She wwvas out cold wwvhen Finn got her back on dry land, and started unconscious for the next twwvo days.

Wwvhen she wwvoke up, a fewwv things happened. Firstly, she devvweloped pneumonia, and the lasting damage to her lungs from it combined wwvith the near Drowwvning meant she couldn't get off the ground or lift anything heavvwy for a wwvhile.

Twwvo: it caused her first miscarriage.

And three: the blunt force head trauma cause some SERIOUS psychological and neurological issues. Balance problems, Vvwison issues, sudden mood swwvings, irritability, paranoia, and mild audial hallucinations. She kept hearing the sound of children laughing, specifically.

Tarni wwvouldn't havvwe blamed Finley for kicking her off his ship after her paranoia made her unable to leavvwe the cabin, and her physical issues made her unable to do the same labor she'd been doing. She definitely wwvould'vvwe understood him throwwving her off after she lost the baby.

But he didn't. Wwvay he sawwv, he still owwved her that favvwor, maybe a fewwv more. So he havvwe her a period of unusual grace, and let her recovvwer enough to go back to wwvork.

If he wwvas screaming at the local doctor the entire time she wwvas unconscious, she didn't need to knowwv that. If he hadn't left her bedside at any point until she wwvoke up, she didn't need to knowwv that either.

Her wwving wwvas busted during the Domina incident, she got hit by the mast of the ship and wwvas briefly pinned in Domina's jawwvs. It broke her wwving, and she took off before it wwvas fully healed. Three days of nonstop flying and crashing into sevvweral trees later, and it had to be removvwed.

And Finnegrin reacted in the expected wwvay for a control freak in a 46 year relationship wwvith another control freak wwvaking up to find their spouse gone wwvith no note after JUST havvwing admitting to lovvwing them the night before in a desperate bid to assure them they wwveren't in danger of getting murdered by you despite your growwving delusional paranoia.

Wwvhich is to say he panicked, ran outside, nearly tore the port apart looking for her, and then wwvent back and trashed his office wwvhile screaming that he wwvas going to cut her fucking wwvings off for running out on him. He then spent the next three days not eating or sleeping, and drinking himself to tears trying to figure out wwvhat he'd done to make her decide he wwvasn't her best option in life anymore.

He still spends the slowwver days in Scumport scanning the sky for any sign of her finally coming back home.

Does Tarni have any siblings? If no, does she want siblings?

Tarni has TWWVO siblings, both younger than her! (This isn't saying much she's like 83) her brother Killdeer and her sister Iris! Her mom took them wwvith her wwvhen she left, and Tarni doesn't knowwv wwvhy she didn't get to come wwvith them. They're still in contact though, havvwe been for a fewwv decades nowwv!

As for kids, she's Nyx(a canon character from S3)'s mom! She alwwvays vvwiewwved the idea of children as just continuing the bloodline, but realized after havvwing Nyx that she only thought that because that's wwvhy her parents had her, and her father's parents before them.

She lovvwes her daughter more than anything, she really does.

She had tried to havvwe kids before that, out of a wwvant for someone to run Scumport after her and Finnegrin wwvere gone, but blending Arcanums is difficult. They tried four times, and the first three didn't make it to the second trimester. The fourth made it to birth, but nevvwer took a first breath.

Nyx wwvas her only, and at times she thinks that may be a good thing. She understands her mother a little more in those moments.

She also considers Elmer to be her son. Big guy came from SOMEWWVHERE, and that somewwvhere wwvas a frustrated skywing securing a legacy her body couldn't givvwe her.

She wwvishes she'd taken him wwvith her, but there just... wwvasn't time.

She and Finn(actually fuck this you're getting my headcanon for his actual name because I REFUSE to belivvwe anyone wwvould name their son Finnegrin) wwvere newwv to the business that he wwvas wwvilling to let the bastard stay on his ship wwvithout trouble. Only because he wwvas Tarni's dad.

Then he started making snide little comments about Tarni staying in the port, and changing her name. And her wwvhole Thing wwvith Finley(yep that's his name you can't talk me out if this).

He started trying to talk her into leavvwing wwvith him. Because he wwvas lonely after the wwvoman he left her mother for had up and run off on him.

Finley wwvasn't exactly pleased at the idea, but he owwved her a favvwor still, and figured letting her leavvwe wwvould pay it back.

But Tarni had already dealt wwvith her father's shit once. He'd talked her mother into running off wwvith him, and wwvhen havvwing kids slowwved them dowwvn, his wwving and his eyes had taken to wwvandering. Sparrow had wwvoken up at six years old to find her mother and baby siblings gone. Zephyr had dumped her on Maelstrom a fewwv years later, after he found a newwv bird to flock wwvith.

She had no doubt he'd do it again. And besides, they'd run lowwv on money evvwentually, and Tarni had nevvwer been a land-going bird.

Tarni has SEVVWERE abandonment issues. Blame her parents. She's made up her mind that Lovvwe Isn't Real. Its wwvhat you say to make treating people like SHIT okay.

She's pragmatic. Getting Finn a job meant he owwved her a favvwor. Killing her grandfather got a problem out of the wwvay. Making Finn captain kept her head off the chopping block, and ensured she still had some powwver.

Killing her father wwvas pragmatic as wwvell. So wwvas Marrying Finn, wwvho didn't belivvwe in lovvwe any more than she did.

But the accident had her questioning things. Finn keeping her around had her questioning things.
