Random idea but like, what if the Netherworld was literally a Netherworld. Since "nether" means under that means it's the under world. So it could be literally under the earth, which would also mean the sky is fake. That would be a cool story line, plus, have we ever seen the sun? I don't recall any moment where the sun actually appears, there's a day night cycle, but no sun? The moons are almost always full. At the beach the "sun" was floating fireballs. So could the sky be fake?
