Crack Cloud- Ouster Stew 6-26-2020

We discovered Crack Cloud recently thanks to the Part Time Punks radio show, which airs Thursdays at 3pm on KXLU. Please check it out. Thanks to DJ Michael Stock, we discovered this amazing band from Vancouver, Canada. 

“Ouster Stew” is upbeat, interesting post-punk, starting off with a recognizable Gang of Four or Talking Heads influence, but after a long meditative interlude, “Ouster Stew,” like another single, “Tunnel Vision,” takes the listener on adventures in soundscape. It’s a refreshing sound. I’m also reminded of the LA band Media Jeweler, who also play a deconstructed and angular post-punk as well, but Crack Cloud has more rhythm, which this Guardian article attributes to being influenced by Fela Kuti. 

Additionally, the music videos are interesting both visually and plot-wise. We can’t wait to see and hear more.
