Inspired by the famous Crack Pie from the Momofuku Milk Bar cookbook, this Crack Pie Tart features a rich and gooey filling encased in a flaky pie crust. It's decadent, addictive, and perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth cravings.
Ingredients: 2 pre-made pie crusts. 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar. 3/4 cup light brown sugar. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted. 3/4 cup heavy cream. 6 large egg yolks. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Powdered sugar, for dusting.
Instructions: Preheat oven to 350F 175C. Place pre-made pie crusts into tart pans, pressing firmly into the bottoms and up the sides. In a large bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt. Stir in melted butter until well combined. Add heavy cream, egg yolks, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth. Pour filling into prepared tart crusts. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the filling is set but still slightly jiggly in the center. Remove from oven and let cool completely on a wire rack. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
