do you know how to knit or crochet?

Technically I can knit but nothing complicated! I did make these cool Halloween things which were just basic knitted shapes sew up cleverly - there are some others too the mummy is cool

Crochet has never been a skill I could pick up which is annoying I’m so impressed by the crochet things I see here. My mum can crochet kind and does some things for me (like the frogs in their Halloween costumes above ) and she’s done some cool blankets.

I’m more of a needle felter and Pom Pom maker 😆

I slow cooked a beef stew all day and I don't think I'll ever make anything as good again.

Ooh! All I’ve eaten today is mongolian beef from my favorite takeout place, because my sinuses have been all screwed up and it’s the only spicy food I really like. But slow cooker stew sounds really good tbh

Yeah, the bookmark I made for my dad had like 41 different colors and there were a couple times it got out of hand and GM would appear like “No. What is this? Clean it up, we won’t have the desk looking like this when people checkin. Also, how’s it coming? Can I see? Your dad will love this.”

I get the Christmas present deadline stress, last year I made so many unicorns and tigers, and a sweater for my nephew and this year I'm like unless you came from the loins of my sister-in-law you get nothing. But this year I'm also working full time and studenting full time.

I’m fresh off the studenting, but working full-time. Which has actually worked in my favor, because I have downtime at work and lovely incredible bosses who LOVE seeing what I make and let me craft at the hotel unless and until it interferes with my work (which it hasn't. actually, I’ve made lots of awesome connections with guests who want to see what I’m working on and/or share their own stories). 

This year it’s been cross-stitch bookmarks for everyone, since that’s my latest obsession hobby. But I’ve got a shawl I’m knitting at robotics meetings too, and my kids are always so impressed to see the colors changing as I work along it. One of them even asked if I’d show him how to knit, so that’s a thing that may be happening

I thrive on deadlines, I made Shawls for my little cousins wedding last summer, and it was a four month project because it would take me two-three weeks per shawl, and I would take a week in-between, but they turned out gorgeous, and then with the left overs I made her step-son a stuffed owl so he would have something from the day too.

A. DOR. A. BLE. I work really well under deadlines, but they stress me out and then my hobbies aren’t fun anymore. So I started my Christmas crafting in October this year to make really sure I didn’t have a lot of pressure in getting done. (side note, but, what’s that owl pattern?? I do love stuffy patterns ...)

I've never made myself anything, but I make things for my aunts, cousins, and nephew all the time on the understanding that I get to pick out the yarn base, and they pick out the colors and pay for it, and that is the story of how I got to work with really nice cashmere for free.

Ooh that’s a LOVELY system. I mostly craft for myself because deadlines stress me out and I feel bad taking too long on things for others. That said, I’ve done some really cool needlepoint bookmarks for Christmas gifts this year
