Just started saving craft and art and direct action and activism tutorials I want to be able to find again to The Wayback Machine* so that I know I'll always be able to find them again if they get moved or deleted
*The Internet Archive has a browser extension that lets you automatically archive a page with literally two clicks
And immediately. 10/10. 14/10. Would absolutely recommend
It also lets you see any archived versions of a page with just a few clicks, so it's great for getting around paywalls, as well as for keeping data and news stories from being deleted or moved
You can get the extension (or app for phones?) here:
Do you have a specfic tutorial for the paper wisterias? They look so cute ^_^
🌸 Paper Wisteria Tutorial 🌸
want to make these flowers to hang over your doorway or window or what have you?:
hooray !! i can show you how :]
i made these using:
green yarn
colorful construction paper
pony beads
of course it is not required for you to use any of these specifically; you just need paper, beads to space the flowers, and any string like thing to hang them on. you will also need scissors and glue—mine hold up perfectly with just elmer’s school glue!
tutorial below the cut (this will be long, be warned!)
🌸step one:🌸
cut a length of your string/yarn/what have you, and be generous with it depending on how long you want your wisteria to be. once you have this length of yarn, tie a bead to one end. this is what will hold up the bottom flower
🌸step two:🌸
prepare your construction paper to make flowers! the way i do it, one full sheet can create four flowers
first, fold your sheet hamburger style (short side to short side)
then, cut down the crease so you have two even halves
then, do the same to the half sheet you now have, folding it in half hamburger style and cutting once more. this will give you two sheets 1/4 size of your original paper
don’t worry about cutting or folding anything perfectly, i promise you it doesn’t matter
🌸step three:🌸
make the flowers!
take your 1/4 sheet and pull one corner up to the long side to create a triangle shape with some extra on the side. cut off this extra, leaving you with only the triangle
take the two opposite corners of your triangle and bring them to each other, folding it into a smaller triangle
repeat this step once more, leaving you with another, smaller triangle
then, find the corner where the paper is folded and cut off the tip. be careful not to cut too much, or else the bead won’t be able to hold up the flower !!
then, flip it over and cut an arch shape into the other side
when you unfold it, it should look like this!:
if your flower looks like this, you’ve done it right! hooray !!
next, cut one petal out
you can put the extra petal aside or toss it, we won’t need it’
take the two petals on either side of the gap and glue one on top of the other; this should give the flower a curve
that’s how you make a paper flower! huzzah!! the hard part is done
🌸step four:🌸
stack your flowers !!
put the yarn through the hole in the center of your flower and slide it down until the bead stops it (make sure the flower is open downwards!). then, make more flowers, using the beads to space them out as you put them on. I like to use three pony beads between the flowers to space them out
as you stack them, your wisteria will start to form! i worried about color coordinated the beads at first, but it really doesn’t matter because you won’t be able to see them once all the flowers are on there. i like to end off my wisteria with one matching colored bead at the top for a finished look, but of course, this is not required.
when you’ve stacked as many flowers as you want onto your yarn, it’s time to hang them!
🌸step five:🌸
hang your flowers !!
of course weight will vary depending on what exact materials you use, but mine hold up just fine with only scotch tape since it’s just yarn, paper and beads!
happy crafting!!
if you try this, please feel free to post your results in the reblogs or post them and tag me…….i would love to see it:3!!!!
Want to make your very own Static Miku? Well now you can!
Thanks @static-miku-fictive for helping guide the tutorial!
(the qr code leads back to this post)
Tutorial below!
Required Materials:
● Scissors
● Glue
● A printer + paper
Step 1:
Download and print the page! (most important step)
Here's what I'll look like! With the addition of a qr code, of course!
Step 2:
Carefully cut out your Miku! (save any scrap paper for later steps!)
Don't be afraid to ask a parent for help with this step! Scissors are sharp!
Step 3:
Carefully use your scissors (or a pencil if its easier!) to make holes in the parts labeled below! (see image below)
Comically large objects are the best objects!
Step 4:
Take some of your scrap paper leftovers and cut it into a long rectangle! After you're done cutting the rectange, cut out a circle as well! (see image below for a size comparison)
Scissors! Eek!
Step 5:
Take your long rectangle and roll it into a tube! When rolling, you should be rolling up the long side so it's short and thick, not long and skinny. (image example below)
Mine.. uh.. has a lot of... personality..? But that's okay! Nothing's perfect, if anything it just adds to the charm!
Step 6:
Now that you have your paper tube rolled, make sure the tube is just smaller than the holes you made earlier, this is so it moves! One you're satisfied with the size, trim off any access and glue it to the back of Miku's head! (see image below)
Be careful, glue can get pretty sticky!
Step 7:
After the glue on the head dries, carefully slide the arms and the torso on. The arms should be dangling in front of the torso. (If preferred, you can also trim down the tube to desired length.) Once they're both slid on, glue the circle onto the end of the tube so nothing slides off! (see image below)
There's some purple? What? Where?
[ Author's note: do not consume glue. ]
Step 8:
Finished! Enjoy your Miku!
It's me! Now I can never leave you! Never!

i made a pattern and tutorial for making my most recent favorite sewing projects— the Nose Beasts!!! I also made a youtube video if you prefer video instructions over text/pictures!!
If you decide to make any of these little creatures yourself, please tag me so I can see them!!!!! I wanna see more little Nose Beasts in the world!!
And here's what the practice was for! It's probably obvious that I really like cargo pants now. I found this pair at the thrift store that was perfect, but I don't do camo patterns. So I tinted it cool grey while keeping a tiny bit of the original patterning. Then I spraypainted the wing stencils and added the cybersigil details!
I'm really excited to wear this to my church's picnic event!
Someone asked me how I made the pins when I originally posted that I was making pins earlier, so I decided to made an in depth tutorial.
First things first, supplies!
You will need:
Paper (and a printer, unless you want to draw it out yourself)
Scissors
Glue (I use a gluestick because it's what I have on hand, but if you use something like school glue you might have to be careful not to saturate the paper with it)
Pins (the ones in the picture are some I've already painted, which will be explained in the prep step)
Paint (color doesn't actually matter much, but know that theres a chance it will alter the tint of the pins)
Some kind of sealant (I use acrylic sealer because that's what I have on hand, but things like mod podge and clear nail polish work too) bonus points if it's glossy ✨️
Step one: Prep!
Print out/draw the designs you want on the pins. Here, I have my sweet dork of a f/o, Deidara.
This is also the stage where you'll paint your pins, because if they have designs on them already (like mine did) it can show through during the sealant step. That's what happened to me on my first attempt (I ended up having to redo them all, which worked out because now I'm making this tutorial <3) I used black paint, which gave them a darker undertone after spraying the sealer on them.
Step two: Cutting and Gluing!
When cutting, it's a good idea to leave some excess and trim it off later (if the pin is too big for the design, you can fill in the white edges with a local color to bridge the gap)
Now for gluing, slather some glue on the back of the picture and line it up with the pin to the best of your ability.
Now you can trim the edges, but still keep a bit of excess so you can fold it over the edge of the pin. I do this by smoothing outward from the center of the picture, and then around the edge.
Now you're nearly done! Give your character / f/o a smooch for getting this far 😘
Step three: Sealing!
For this final step, you just need to take your sealant and apply it to the top of the pins. You can also use this time to make sure that the extra edge (that was folded down) is glued down securely. I skipped this part because these pins are going into my ita bag, but I recommend you do this if they’re going to be in a less protected spot.
I did not heed the instructions on my sealer and accidentally sprayed way too much at once. My poor boy 😭 (it's not too terrible at least, and should be better when it's dry)
And that's all, folks! Have fun with your new knowledge and stay creative!
