#Repost @thecraftbrewnette ・・・ THE ELEMENT OF SURPRISE 😲 • Sometimes we underestimate the things around us out of familiarity. • Take hometowns, for example. Just out of sheer familiarity, we forget to do things like be tourists in our own cities. 📍 • I grew up outside of really small town wayyy up in Northern California. • Not exactly known for must-see destinations, the strip of land between Chico and Redding was a still a great place to grow up… but not really one that came with much excitement. 😐 • We generally had to make our own fun. • There was, however, one extremely well-known brewery within day-trip distance - you know who you are - which got all the North Valley glory. 🏔 • So when I finally got into craft beer, I didn’t exactly put the other breweries that had popped up in the area on my brewery bucket list. • But on a whim on my last trip out, I decided to check out @woodysbrewingco. 🤷🏻♀️ • The first sip of my flight was their APRICOT WHEAT, and I quickly realized I had sorely underestimated what was coming out of my hometown area. • So as I made my way through the NUTTY WOODY BROWN ALE, PRAY FOR POWDER PORTER, SIR IRISH RED ALE, HAZY ATTITUDE IPA, and GOLDEN EAGLE ALE, I started to wonder what else I had been missing. 🤔 • I think it might be time to be a tourist in my hometown. • Have you ever been pleasantly surprised by a brewery close to home? 🙌🏼 • If so, let me know.
