Dont you hate it when fat fingers damage a project just as you finish it?

I've had an idea for a book cover for a few days, and decided to make it in reality - it went great, up until I smudged the printing on some acetate 😞

Since this was just a test of the concept, I didn't want to go too hard. Anyway, here's a notebook with a four-layer custom designed gothic window cutout, along with a glazed-design acetate insert:

You can't see it too well, but the cutout shows the endpapers featuring a starry sky (if I were to do it again, aside from using better acetate, I'd lighten the image before printing it)

I'd also maybe drybrush the window cutouts to add a little depth to them

Decided I'm going to learn tablet weaving so I can make custom book ribbons for my binds. Naturally, I went straight for really thin and fiddly threads, rather than learning on yarn...

It was going really well for all of about ~22 turns, then one of the warp threads snapped because my temporary setup didn't have enough slack 😭

Still, the pattern was nice a visible for what I had done, and the width is almost perfect, so once I can bodge a loom together I think I'll be set

Playing with textures on my new, baby loom. I wanted to try weaving something with two wools of the same colour but different thicknesses. To see how it turned out.

As you can see from the picture, I didn't quite manage it. The thicker wool is a slightly lighter shade, but I'm really liking the effect. It's a nice, subtle tripe. It's also interesting that the warp thread shows through more noticeably on the thicker lines. If I had the warp threads in the same shade as the thicker wool, or in a starkly contrasting colour, I could probably get quite a fun effect.

At the moment, I'm using the warp threads that the loom came already set up with when I bought it, but I do plan on playing around with the colour of those in the future.
