Playing around with making textiles from scraps again. Since I’ve got the new bag design, I think it will work out better than my normal drawstrings. It’s still wet from washing out the interfacing, but I know it will be cute once I trim it up and match the lining.
Shout to my little brother for crawling out of his warm blanket cocoon to hold it for me while I take a picture. Made him hot chocolate as a reward.
More abstract PS work. Again I have used scanned in drawings and manipulated them on PS to explore colour and texture. Im thinking this will influence my silhouette for Lir- God of the Sea.
INTRO TO BLOCK PRINTING
Level 1 Block Printing: No prior block printing experience is needed. No prior drawing or illustrative experience necessary.
Join Thea Gahr, a local printmaker, and member of the Justseeds Artists Cooperative for a 3-hour workshop on block printing. During class, students will design, carve, and print their own blocks onto a handkerchief to take home with them.
Skills Learned
- Creating a successful design for the medium
- Proper carving techniques and use of the tools
- Learn the art of inking and printing with hand-carved stamps
