ellie gutted her apartment for anything craig kept there—which was a lot, since the two of them had been on a drawer-and-spare-toothbrush level at each other’s places since the summer. the bin she was tossing it all into was overflowing by the time she was actually done. going back and forth between wanting to make a scene out of giving it back to him or just wanting to throw it all out and be done, she hasn’t brought herself to actually be able to get rid of it yet (and doesn’t want to admit that she probably won’t anytime soon) so it’s currently stashed on the floor of her closet area, covered by a blanket so no one asks any questions. she’s also been sleeping in a couple of his shirts but swears that it’s just because she hasn’t done laundry in a while (you know, since she would usually do it at craig’s).

the week after homecoming when craig slept over her apartment, ellie suggested he share her bed for once since he normally insists on taking the couch no matter whose house they’re at. he was only staying with friends to avoid going home, so she was pretty big on the whole comfort and support thing. they also had just been cozy as hell and super domestic those few days, so it kind of made sense. when they would attempt to wind down for the night, she’d go off on ridiculous tangents about running away together in various convoluted schemes (make it big in hollywood under fake identities, raise farm animals at a cottage in ireland, just kind of road trip indefinitely and maybe rob convenience stores for money) just to avoid having to go to school the next day. he’d always humor it and even started asking her for new ones if she started to doze off before him.

          “ hey , asshole ! ” she finally understands the term liquid courage , feels it in the anger bubbling over inside of her when she sees him. it’s been a week and she’s barely seen him. why ? cuz he couldn’t face her after what she’d seen ? well too fucking bad. he could pretend all he wanted that things were fine , but she hadn’t been fine since. and now she wanted him to feel it , feel all her anger and frustration and fear. “ you gonna keep ignoring your sister like a fucking coward , or what ? ”

alex has gotten a significant amount of her music taste from alena

He wasn’t one to trust something he’d seen on the internet (unless it was tips and tricks for Tony Hawk Pro Skater), so he wasn’t sure if this was a legit thing or not. But with his finances not really the best, he really didn’t have too many options when it came to getting a bass guitar in decent condition. A used one seemed to be the best he could do for now, and thankfully someone had one for sale. After arriving in front of the home, he walked over to the garage, which was set up as basically a place to practice, knocking on the side of the open garage door as he sees the older boy playing. “Dude, you must go through axes like candy to be playing that good. Most impressive.”
