An Appreciation to The Crane Wives ✨🎸

I planned for this to be finished in a more timely manner (specifically during the release of Beyond, Beyond, Beyond), but It Took Me Quite A While To Draw Everything.. thus this post being in December.

I am not really a long-time fan of theirs — only listening to them a few years ago — but I appreciate them a lot for building a good aspect of my identity, and it really pushed me towards making discoveries about myself. I recall one of Emilee Petersmark's interviews about the band's songs being a way for others to not feel alone about struggles like sexuality, and it prompted me to look into these songs and connect to them further.

(and even outside of symbolism adding to the song, some of them really are just groovy)

I know some friends who prefer other musical artists over The Crane Wives and I understand that it's not always an easy listen since their musical feel takes time to grow used to, but I will always cherish them for helping me seek my own path.
