I used to play Fo3 and NV on a computer. Never needed vats. Never spent a single point on luck. So much easier to aim with a mouse and sidestep with a keyboard.

Pshh. I abuse VATS so much, even to kill radroaches -- it is totally the controller’s fault! Not like I’m a casual gamer who puts her brain on pause to play or anything

Have any of your bugs ever spooked you?

One of my first experiences in studying entomology involved a subject in insect behaviour. We had to do individual projects with insect observations. I chose looking at the effect of pheromones on cockroach behaviour. Part of it involved maintaining a colony of cockroaches. Several times when just doing routine cleaning and organising I had cockroaches jump on to my very long hair. Cue me running out of the insectary screaming and shaking my hair to get the beasties out. Suffice to say I pretty much now detest cockroaches and any fast moving insect!

Character Development Questions: Hard Mode

4. Has your character ever witnessed something that fundamentally changed them? If so, does anyone else know?

A few things, yeah. One big thing was the destruction of the Hosnian System, which gained even more significance when he found out that Hux was his twin brother - he knew he was a clone and that he had a twin brother before this, but he’d never seen exactly what Hux looked like before. 

It affected him in two ways: first of all, the event itself was horrific, and secondly…discovering that someone whose DNA is identical to yours committed genocide - someone whose upbringing could have been yours under ever-so-slightly different circumstances? Hello, existential dread.

7. Does your character have recurring themes in their nightmares?

Most of them involve the destruction of the Hosnian System…or being back on Jakku as a kid. Or people he cares about being in some sort of danger, especially Lucy. 

12. In what situation was your character the most calm they’ve ever been?

When he’s sleeping and not having a nightmare? I’m not sure Caleb is often calm tbh. He sometimes seems calm, but he’s a very emotional person and he tends to overthink things a lot - he finds it difficult to switch off. He’s just able to keep his thoughts and feelings to himself if the circumstances (e.g. a stressful work situation) require it.

Who would win in a staring contest. Maxon or Grumpy cat and why?

Maxson would probably lose because he’d have to blink… eventually. Which just goes to show he’s an actual breathing human and not a dirty synth. Unlike Grumpy Cat, who’s probably a synth, what with so few different facial expressions. AD VICTORIAM! or something.

So I read this before hopping in my car to go home. I think everybody in this conversation is pretty much all on the same page. The one thing that I can say without a shadow of a doubt is my biggest pet peeve is when somebody from one country starts posting about issues in another country that they never even set foot in. Life is a hell of a lot more complicated than a reblog.

Yep, agreed. As for posting about issues in other countries...I think it’s okay to bring something up if it’s framed in a way that invites discussion, as opposed to trying to position yourself as an authority? Because there are some parallels, and what’s going on in one country will affect another (sometimes in ways we can see). Communication is good, is basically what I’m trying to say lol

Haha, it sure would be. I’ve somehow managed to avoid getting too much anon hate during my time on tumblr (probably not interesting/popular enough :p)
