Welcome to Nazca - Peru's most disappointing town.

A lot of places that I’ve been have been inspired by something that I’ve read. As a teenager, I read a book called Evil Star by Anthony Horowitz which fascinated me. The plot was centred around the Nazca Lines, a number of mysterious drawings etched into the floor of the Nazca desert of Peru. Unfortunately, the author didn’t specify that you have to visit the town of Nazca to be able to see them.

I find it funny how in the USA, so many people are extremely patriotic, talk about how proud they are to be American and wave flags about everywhere, whereas here in the UK we had hundreds of people complaining about the fact their hometown did not make it into the bestselling book "Crap Towns: The Worst Places To Live In Britain" to the point where they had to release "Crap Towns 2: The Nation Decides"
