Escape - Prologue
It's about 10:30 at night. I am lying in my bed, drifting off to sleep, when suddenly I see a bright flash of light in my window. It blinds my eyes. I don't remember what happens for a few minutes. I think I blacked out. The next thing I see is a blurry image of two featureless figures looking over my body, making marks on clipboards as some probing machine looks at my body with cameras and touches me with prods.
One of them notices that I'm awake. A camera widens its lens and a light flashes. I fall back asleep. I wake up some time later. The sunlight of day shines in through the window. I look at the alarm clock on my bedside table. It's now 6:29 in the morning. My alarm goes off as it turns to 6:30.
THAT WAS THREE YEARS, NINE MONTHS, TWO WEEKS, AND SIX DAYS AGO; SIX MONTHS BEFORE THE WORLD WENT TO HELL.
