Sixteen years.
My friend Eric Ng was killed 16 years ago today by a drunk driver while riding his bike on the Hudson River Greenway.
This summer I rode 465 miles across the state of Iowa, along with about 15,000 other people. It’s an annual group ride called RAGBRAI, and it was an absolute blast. I sent out a mass invite to a bunch of friends and a few did come along....I can’t help but wonder if Eric would’ve come, had he still been alive. I feel like there’s a decent chance he would have. I wish he could have.
Requiescat in pace, Eric.
A reality break from #comicon2019 @make_queens_safer ・・・ Apologies for the graphic and disturbing photo. A 10 year bike rider was killed in Brooklyn by an unlicensed driver. If legislation by Mike Guanaris and Aravella Simotas #Queens #queensdems had passed, this would have been a Class D Felony, with 7 years in jail. As is, many call it an accident. #crashnotaccident #visionzeroEmergency #safekids (at Jacob Javits Center) https://www.instagram.com/p/B3RvvLphzwa/?igshid=1hev59x4q5srx
Six years!
Yesterday marked six years of this project. Thanks to all who have contributed, followed, shared, liked, etc. It really means a lot to me that people have responded, and it helps inspire me to keep it going (albeit sporadically). But instead of a birthday cake, I want to share a death day video.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately - okay, always, not just lately...but even more than usual since the memorial ride for Jose Alzorriz last month. I hope it's never me. I hope it's never anyone. But if it is, let's make sure that the headlines are right. Don't we owe at least that small kindness to the dead?
