1. What does their bedroom look like?
Walking into Brenna’s bedroom, your eyes are likely to be drawn first to the large window that the sun beams through first thing in the morning, covered in various furs and thick fabrics. To the left there is a large doorway with a long thin curtain hanging in it, separating her sleeping quarters from a modest bathing room. Against the wall adjacent to the bathroom sits an ornate iron woodstove. The top of the wood stove has a range for cooking a small one pan meal and a place to heat a kettle of water. Under the range are two intricately designed glass doors with matching filligree, set one above the other. The top section housing the fire and wood, while the second section below is a small oven. The set up wasn’t intended for very impressive meals, but it did provide Brenna with everything she needed to make a cup of tea, mull a bit of mead with spices, or warm up left over french fries. Across the wall from the wood stove is her bed, a gorgeous hand carved night stand to one side, and a closet to the other. Strewn about her room are clothes, both piled up and draped over furniture. At the foot of her bed sits a large chest with a cushioned lid. Unlocking the chest allows both the top and front to hinge away from the main structure, showing a collection of ornate and custom blades. Against the wall adjacent to the door is a small desk and chair, draped in clothing with piles of books atop the surface.
7. Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting time
Brenna prefers to waste her time with music blasting in her ears a drink in one hand and a book in the other while haunting the dark corners of seedy hole in the wall bars. Though she knows it is technically work and not a true waste of time, her obsessive desire to protect those who are viewed as weak means that even when not sent to retrieve souls, she is on Midgard, protecting those who need it.
12. Favorite book genre?
Most of Brenna’s preferred books tend to be psychological thrillers. She also enjoys reading Nordic fantasy, getting a particular giggle over the way Asgardians are typically portrayed. Unfortunately, most of her reading is done when she is distracted, so she rarely ever finishes a book. Much of the focused reading she is able to do takes place in the time between late night and early morning, as she munches fries (staining pages with oil and salt as she reads) after coming back to Asgard before she falls asleep.
19. What do they think about before falling asleep at night?
Brenna’s nights consist generally of reading until she falls asleep, so her mind is most focused on whatever she’s most recently read. Prior to picking up this habit, her mind was often littered with thoughts of those she wanted to protect, women, children, those who had to fight to protect themselves every day. After a particularly rough stretch of time in which she was only returning to Asgard to train, some of the other Valkyrie sat her down and told her she couldn’t do keep doing this to herself, she took up a vice and a distraction and decided to do what she could to better distract herself in the evenings.
25. How do they see themselves 5 years from today?
Brenna has always wanted a life in which she could settle down with a partner (she always imagined another of the Valkyries), and kids. It was always on her 5 year goal. But 5 years is a blink of an eye for Asgardians. Every year she reminds herself that in 5 years she’d have a wife, maybe a husband, a round belly ready to birth their first child, a home that wasn’t in the King’s dorms. Every year, she throws herself harder into training, learning her sword better, fighting harder, working more.
