Spotted Vladimir Ilyich Lenin and a "Crazy Clock" atop Red Square apartments on 250 East Houston Street between Ave. A & B.
After the fall of the USSR, the statue was never officially unveiled. Co-owner Micheal Shaoul's associate found the statue in the backyard of a dacha outside of Moscow and since then has been part of the building in 1994. Micheal Rosen, radical socialist turned real estate developer, along with Shaoul, created post cards that read "Greetings from Red Square". The Lenin Statue faces Wall Street, capitalism's emblem, and the LES, "the home of the socialist movement".
The clock numbers are arranged: 12, 4, 9, 6, 1, 10, 5, 11, 7, 2, 3, and 8. M & Co. "Askew" design with random, out-of-sequence numbers was from a watch featured in the Museum of Modern Art collection.
Now that's how you make a statement.
