The Long Overdue Psych Fic Update

So, years ago, one of my very good fandom friends and I wrote a fic about a crazy stalker chick who got fixated on Shawn Spencer. Then we had the brilliant idea for a sequel... that we started and then never finished.

We talked about it on and off ever since, but we never were able to actually sit down and work on the thing. And then, last year, it finally happened! Inspiration and availability coincided, we ended up reworking the entire plot, and then we managed to finish the story.

It’s posted on PF since that’s where this all started, but I also have uploaded it to AO3 if that’s your preference.

Am I the only one that thinks it’s really creepy and fucked up that fans force themselves, and take pictures, on a tired Tom in an airport? He clearly didn’t want to be noticed, he probably just wanted to go lie down and rest. It feels like taking advantage of him, because ofcourse he wants to be nice to fans, and there’s no way he can say no.

I can’t imagine how entitled and self involved you have to be to actually feel it’s okay to accost someone in an airport that really just want to get out of there. If he comes up to you after it’s obvious that you are a fan, then sure it’s his choice and good on you. But the fanatical entitlement that says that just because you are so into someone you feel like you own them in that moment feels so wrong to me. It’s close to being abusive. Just imagine if someone forced themselves on you and took pictures of you because they ‘loved’ you and they’re a complete stranger. It doesn’t matter that the person is famous, it’s still fucking creepy af. But then the whole hunting celebrities to take pictures of them has always felt creepy to me. Don’t get me wrong, it would be awesome to meet my heroes that has inspired me and helped me through dark times. But it should be on their terms, not mine, because they don’t owe me anything. As fans we should appreciate the fans that are actually respectful and have encounters that doesn’t violate a persons right to choose what happens to them. Because I’ve seen those fans doing the right thing, and it’s great to watch because you’re so used to the opposite. Like the girls that didn’t go up to Tom at the Montreal airport because he was clearly distressed so they decided not to. That’s being human and decent, and I applaud that.

Even if they were single, you wouldn't have a snowballs chance in hell.

All we know of them and the people you claim to hate is from media and third parties. YOU. DON'T. KNOW. THEM. Even when you watch a million races/shows/videos. You are a stranger to them. They are a stranger to you. Also they are a human being with a right of a private life. The fans have NO right to comment, especially in the vile way it has been happening. I can't believe I have to say this.

Grow the fuck up.
