Just wanna clear it up once more. I'm a McLaren fan first and a fan of both Lando and Oscar. Actually I like most drivers on the grid, grudingly respect Max and Lance is around too. Doesn't mean I'm blind about the weaknesses of my faves. When I'm (re) posting about XYZ fans...if you're not a raging fangirl, wishing downfall on the team and planning Oscars or Landos escape, I don't mean you.

Also, if you're new, maybe try and listen to what other F1 fans try to tell you. Yes, sometimes things suck and hurt, but you can also experience amazing highs.

Yeah...just enjoy the ride, it also doesn't really influence your life.

I’m not majorly on other platforms fandoms but I feel like the media and certain fans are going wayyyy too far with landoscar to Lando and Oscar’s faces suddenly and I fear we have to remind any newer fans that Lando and Oscar simply don’t engage w the queerbaity stuff with fans the way other teammates or bromances do!

and I get that it can be confusing bc sometimes it’s okay and sometimes not to do the rpf stuff with drivers and some of them even encourage it. but if you see videos or content on other platforms that’s from non fandom sources - ie spaces where media people or Lando and Oscar themselves could easily see it and are not run solely by fans for fans - then pls politely and kindly ask for the media creators (for example the ones who asked about the finish the lyrics video not so subtly) and the fans in the comments to back off of the rpf and bromance stuff with Lando and Oscar.

most drivers aren’t actually comfy with rpf and unless the drivers are the ones making the jokes and the content, the default should be to keep all rpf in fandom content only.

we don’t need to fandom police or be rude either - the lines are often blurred by celebrities and media so not all fans are aware that it could be problematic! and some ppl might be very young and this is their first fandoms etc so we can course correct gently w each other yk?

but trust me, we do NOT want landoscar turned into The New Big Bromance bc they openly say they don’t engage with PR and don’t like doing the acting/‘yes and’ type content. stick with ships like galex or gabico who are happily in control of that kind of fun with fans (but still stay respectful). but Lando and Oscar being soft or sweet or adorable with each other is NOT them trying to queerbait fans and we can enjoy it being soft and sweet or funny in our own spaces - and in non fandom spaces we can still enjoy it for what it is and not take it to delusional places.

and also remember: the landoscar fan pages collab with the Lily/Lily and Oscar fan pages. we don’t erase girlfriends in this fandom and I don’t want anyone to start now <3

we can absolutely curb all of this before it gets out of hand and encourage the media away from trying to see landoscar as Lando’s third bromance and appreciate them instead for their own thing <3

*I won’t go deep into it but as someone who left a ship fandom bc of major invasive and delusional fan behavior being encouraged and sanctioned by fans - even when tho yes the drivers were engaging w rpf - even then it still goes too far sometimes and I love landoscar as it’s been and dw it to change in a bad way

Let's define sucking first. Exibit A Aston Martin. That's what a lot of us (McLaren fans) lived through, the time the only fun (while crying) we had was Fernando memes, after the car broke down and he chose to be a model or a camera man. The Aston seems worse, but the bar is in hell at this point. Carlando brought some hope and fun back.

New regulations are always a lottery and for now Mercedes seems to have won, but there will be a lot of development and even more gremlins and DNFs, before we can definitely say something about a car sucking. Anything in the top 10 is fine for now, honestly. Try to enjoy the sport, guys 😉

As someone who started it all ass backwards with Fallout 4 (then a bit of 76 and then NV ❤️)... Waiting for a Fallout 3 remake because That looks like a mess for XBOX/PS lol

Something I read, about the BOS being the logical F4 ending and that the BOS is good sparked the incoming rant:

If THAT is your introduction to the BOS, it doesn't make sense to me personally how you choose them, because there is way too much racism and exploitation there and in my playthroughs it's always the Minutemen who are there for everyone who don't hurt anyone else, who require work to build up a good society and don't just take from settlements like raiders in better armour.

What I've seen of Fallout 3, yeah Lyons was a good egg, but boy howdy the show and Fallout 4 really don't make me wanna support the tech nazis/religious cult.

There are some good people like Haylen or Danse, who are the main reason why the Minutemen always co exist with the Railroad and the BOS. Also the fact Danse stops talking to you if you blow them up (which is bad writing after everything) keeps me from doing that most of the time.

But yeah...as long as it isn't explicitly stated in the show, I hold on to that Fallout 4 ending, because with everyone you meet, how could someone buy into the belief that everyone who isn't human should be killed? How do you go up to farms and just bully them into giving up their food? The BOS is not good, some splinter groups might be decent and I can't say much about the OG group (I guess the Appalacian chapter are the closest and their Paladin is trying to be good, but is a bit nutty and Shin grows on you, but would probably fall in line with Arthur ugh), but if the Fallout 4 BOS is something you admire, other than for the obvious "cool stuff", you're not someone I'd want as a friend. 👋😂

Many artists and authors are uncomfortable with their works being shared outside fandom spaces like tumblr and ao3. Often they explicitly say in the notes not to share their works outside the platform the originally published them.

So make sure before you rec that fic or art on twt/x or insta or fb or other sm, you have the creators permission to do so.

These people hate Lando (and his family) because of the crippling fear they have of their peers judging them and the risks of being who they truly are. They can't stand to see someone so openly honest, emotional, sincere, and vulnerable thriving in the way he's been. It goes against what they've convinced themselves they need to do to fit in.

It's jealousy, but not just about their favorite driver losing. It's because he's living as who he authentically is, to a fault at times, and still managing to be happy, loved, and successful - and he genuinely does not care what others think of him. He is confident in who he is and what truly matters.

Meanwhile, they're obsessing over every little curated post and comment to win the praise of strangers online in an effort to feel like they passed a test to fit in with what's trendy. If they can't make people like them, they can make people hate someone else to feel better. These people crave acceptance and freedom, but they're cowards, so they hide their insecurities and self hatred behind the vitriol they spew at Lando in the name of "sports fandom."

It's transparent, and it's sad. I hope they grow out of it and mature into good, reflective people, just like Lando.
